  1. I used "after action report; after action reports, error reports, report bug. I guess I needed to expand more.
  2. I have noticed now on about 3 occasions that after an operation is completed the after action casualty report seems odd.. I played the Village Bocage(sp?) as the Germans and the final screen told me that I had knocked out over 120 vehicles. Now I went back and counted the ones that were laying around (tanks and other vehicles) and only saw about 40 or so. I shrugged it off then. I just got done with another operation and again the number of vehicles killed seemed to big. I thought that the after action reports at the end were supposed to be accurate. Or is it an "estimation" of what you killed - which are renoun for beign over-estimated historically? i.e. Some army claimed they killed 100 tanks when actually the other side only lost 23 or somthing like that. Also - if you skip the night battle, does the computer play it out automatically for you? I ask because sometimes It skips it and then an action report that shows casualties on my side and none on the other (though the casualties seems to be light) I tried to find this in a search but did not find it - sorry if this has been touched on priorly
  3. Buy Now, thank us all later for telling you to buy. WARNING!: This game has the propensity to SUCK your life away... DOUBLE WARNING!: The Surgeon General has concluded that having your life sucked away MAY be detrimental to your other life....
  4. I forget the name of the scenario but it is one of the 2 that come with the demo. there are about 3 pill boxes in that one. play as the americans. (pill boxes are german)
  5. A most astounding feat. My hat is off to the Madmatt master. You know, I have always been leary of using MOD's in fear of viruses, non-compatabilities etc. But having tried a few already, I'm starting to like it. My modem will burn up this weekend with these. Question: Just b/c you have a mod and say a PBEM opponent does not, it doesn;t interfere right? I can't think how it would but just checking? Thanks all --- wonderful work!!!
  6. Most of the time my puppy dog is sleeping on my lap so can't eat or drink much. Sometimes gatorade - keeps up from my sweating bullets while playing.
  7. maybe I'm missing something. I want to know if there is a way that you could order a tank to fire smoke in front of it and then back up like the AI tanks do when outmatched Even if not done automatically, say I turn the corner with a Sherman and see 3 tigers at the end of the road when the turn ends. My next move would be back up and fire cover smoke in front of me to keep from going to armor heaven. But the tank, even though has been ordered to fire smoke in front of it and go in reverse, will go in reverse but then attempt to engage the tigers, or will back up and wait 10-20 sec to fire smoke by which time it's dead anyway. Any suggestions or comments on this?
  8. Soory, obiously I didn't know about prev post. Thanks for the replies. Again, no offense was intended.
  9. This is mainly for BTS staff unless anyone else knows the answer. Now, I'm not trying to be rude and if this was impolite for me to ask then forgive me please. Since this was a website game sale only, and thus probably sales will not be reported that that PC World (or whatever it is) monthly rating of unit sales, I was wondering if we could find about about how many copies of the game have been sold to date? I know this is a great game and enjoy it much, but I have also been reading a lot about how many great games with great reviews just don't make much b/c of lack of sales. Again, just curious Thanks
  10. I really hope that they continue to introduce new things and perhaps in time, redo the graphics engine. Don't get me wrong, it is superb but I would just don't want to hear later on about how the engine and graphics get dated like the Battleground series, etc.
  11. Ok, Good Mornin' all - if any went to bed at all from playing this great game. Here's the latests numbers Allies - 28 (16 US, still 1 French, Brits made a comeback now with 5, Canadians 5) Axis - 28 No preference - 6 Depends on the scenario - 2 Great comments from all. I'm certainly looking foward to playing more. FYI - so far I've played 2 scenarios with US and one with German's - started it last night - I forget the name but is the one where you start out with a single tiger against the british column. I did feel pretty invinsible mowing everything out of the way. I wonder if that how they felt also? "Remember, The Force with be with you... Always." Obi-Wan Kenobi - Star Wars (A New Hope)
  12. ok, the latest tally of choices Axis: 16 Allies: 13 -- 8 US, still only 1 French, no Brits (primarily, lots of secondary choices), 3 Canadians No preference: 4 and new category... Depends on the scenario: 1 Keep it up ya'll. Thanks for all the responses. "It don't mean nothing".... 101st Airborne - Hamburger Hill (the movie)
  13. Ok, after 2.5 hours here's the tally.. Allies - 7 (3 US, 1 Fr, 2 Canadians and 1 (anyone) Axis - 8 No Preference - 2 It is interesting to note that a lot of folks play certain nations for specific reasons (where born, military duty with certain unit, etc.) as opposed to just a reason withing the game itself. I'm not a shrink or anything, just an observation. Keep the POLL GoiNG!!! "Help you I can, Yes, Uhmmmm..." -Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back
  14. I'll do a tally when we get more responses. I agree so far with what someone mentioned as the "Alamo Syndrome". I always like to play the underdog and try to come with a way to "beat the odds"... BTW, Chupacabra - are you from PR?
  15. I'm still kind of new to the game but I wanted to do a poll. Which do you prefer to play Allies or Axis? If Allies - which country, if any, do you like better? And also important - a quick statement as to why you like your side better? Thanks all
  16. Thanks for the welcome JD. I also appreciate the lawyer advise thing, but my wife is too good to ever let go so I'll just have to improvise. sometimes I just play a turn a night and so on. Neatless to say, this will be the only game that I will play for Long...Long...Long time.
  17. I'm not a VET (did some ROTC in college but i know that doesn't count) However I take care of Vets. I work in a VA hospital emergency room. And I completely honor and appreciate all that has ever been done by all Vets of all wars and peacetime.
  18. Right near (about 100miles) from the exact center of the USA.....Shawnee, Kansas
  19. By saying CM1 - do you mean that they are already working on or have solid plans for a CM2?
  20. Hello to everyone. THis is my first post on this board. First and foremost, the game is excellent and only wish I had more time to play it more. I do have a question that my search of the forum database did not find. Has anyone inquired or said anything about adding a way that you can view the ENTIRE scenario movie at the end of each battle? In other words, its great that you can see the 1 minute phase of battle over and over, but once you click on the "Done" button, its gone forever. So is there interest in having a way that after the battle is over be able to view all of the 1-minute films together with the same controls and maybe even view it from the "enemy" side and how they saw the battle evolve - what and who could they see - who was out of sight - etc. Just wondering. Thanks all
