Thanks GAJ!

They could drive up from Saudi/Jordan. Syria and Jordan have a tense history, their last fighting was in 1970. Another option could be thru Turkey - there is still some hostility there over how the borders were drawn after the Ottoman Empire went belly up and Turkish control of the water resources.

I could see insertion as part of the scenario, especially in raid, assault, medivac and other situations. Heliborne would now include MV-22's.
-
Yes I was wondering about heliborne operations, will these be possible?

A splendid campaign. I did some WWI scenarios in CMBO but nothing to this level of achievement. Well done.
Try some slow under armoured tanks. Very interesting

Jungle was a problem. I did a number of Jungle based scenarios for Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma, Borneo and Philipines-they were okay but were very road oriented. Palm trees on dirt was a horrid pinkish color!
My own exploration into the PTO showed that there was vast amount of fighting that is not well known (to NA audiences) but very interesting none the less - Jungle and Urban fighting will be real challenges for CM. Probably the only more difficult will be tunnel and sewer fighting....

Not to worry Bert
I was commenting on the lesser amount of traffic on these forums today versus the 'Golden age' a few years ago. CM the games are still alive and well - and I'm awaiting CMSF. Heck still play cmak and cmbb nearly every day!
-
Glad to hear you will still be designing!
I had taken the first message as another sign of the decline of the cm world.

Rommel in WWI against the Italians
Ernst Junger also in WW I

Thanks for volunteering!
I took a look at the one's above and will probably use the SB Drongo Ridge as one to submit for the upcoming tourney.

Howdy Junk2Drive
Yep just one that I remember
SB Babbot vs Nussolini but it is not a mirror
I also have two incomplete scenarios
One historical
SB Garabud, a Libyan oases taken by the Aussies in 1941.
One fictional/semi-historical
S273(no name) just a scenario creation number
it is a small battle between Italians and Aussies set around a wadi. Incomplete
As you liked the ridge battles the following are in various stages of completion:
SB Drongo Ridge, Aussies vs Italians
SB Bad Ass Ridge Korea, Chinese vs American
SB Nippon Yano Ridge PTO, Japanese vs Americans
SB Bloody Ridge PTO, British vs Japanese

Howdy Moke, er, ah I mean Mao!
I did a few partisan ones for both CMAK and CMBB.
Cmbb
SB Hunting Slobo’s Band
SB Cossacks! Alarm!
SB Train
Cmak
SB Arab 845th BN 1944
That is just partisan (Okay the Greek one is communist guerrillas)
Which minor Axis are you looking for? I did some Italian, Romanian and Hungarian.

Thanks guys! Great stuff...now I find that some of my guesstimate maps for parts of France were wrong....

Hmmmmm, how do you get it down to 1:1500?
-
Hey Michael
What do you need? If you don't find one - and you only need a small scenario let me know and I can create one for you, in no time at all. Just need any parameters you might like. Location, time, terrain, etc.
Send me an email at Wayne100@emirates.net.ae, as I'm down to weekly visits here.

I hope the Mayans weren't thinking about the release of this software when they came up with the date in December 2012.
Keep the faith, I expect next year...honest!

Thanks for the information
I put that little action in the reserve pile for 'insufficient information'. Interestingly I wrote to a number of Norwegian history professors and museums and was never able to obtain a map of the action - or its exact location - despite finding a small hotel located near the site.
At some point I must try again - your notes have been added to the file!

Don't forget to add in the horses lost in the Pacific threater. The Japanese Army in China and Burma relied a great deal on horse power.
Both sides used horses and mules in the Burma campaign.
Somewhere there was a Kiwi site that talked about the amount of horses that were used up and who never came back.

Well I guess we are waiting.
One way to make the new game more appealing would be to allow same force vs same force scenarios. Considering the amount of effort put into trying to make cmbb and cmak scenarios 'balanced' a game capable of producing absolutely balanced scenarios might be more interesting (as it lacks the historical angle)than what might be planned.
We wait : }
In the meantime I continue to gather materials for scenario production to support the modern war and the new World War II game that might come out afterwards. Nothing like a few years of research to fill up the idea barrel. Although the thought of remaking all the existing scenarios is a downer!
-
What no one ever sent it by email? Always sad to lose a good scenario.
Since the scenario is lost can someone explain the method used to create surprize?

Big thanks Shmavis

Information request
Designers: Could you be so kind as to ID any scenarios that you have made that involve the 1st Panzer Division (not the 1st SS Panzer Division)?
Thanks in advance.
