2. I read some earlier complaints about this map. I was more concerned w/ the lack of British firepower. From the account I read in Stephen E. Ambrose's "Citizen Soldiers", pgs 125-127, the British assaulted the westend of the bridge w/ 40 vehicles w/ a further 10 shermans and an artillery battery on the bank prviding coverfire for the paratroops crossing. I would guess that the smaller numbers game reflect the lack of space on the map. If anyone has created their own Market-Garden scenarios or maps I would love to take them for a spin! ------------------ I'm sorry, we haven't the facilities to take all of you prisoner. 3.
quote:
Originally posted by Snakes1000: A new scenario should be posted soon to www.thegamers.net. Until it does, I can send out the scenario individually to anyone interested in playing or anyone wanting to post it on their site. Scenario involves UK's XXX Corps initial advance to Eindhoven on the beginning of Market Garden against Kampfgruppe Walther, specifially FJ Battalion Kerutt. For those that have seen ABTF, this is that German anti-tank ambush battle scene. I'm also building a very large map of the Oosterbeek area in order to make an operation dealing with the Red Devils attempt to hold the Oosterbeek perimter against the overwhelming German forces. Trey Marshall Wild Bill's Raiders Arsenal Group

I am very interested in both scenarios, but particularly in the Oosterbeek one . Even if you only have a map done I would love a copy. send to kenshin@earthlink.net Thanks. Dan ------------------ I'm sorry, we haven't the facilities to take all of you prisoner. 4. IMO, any book by Stepen E. Ambrose will do. Great small action first hand accounts. Also, one of my personal favorites is "It Never Snows in September", by Robert J. Kershaw. this has some of the best accounts of small unit actions ( all from the German perspective) on Operation Market Garden. My final favorites are "A Bridge Too Far" and "The Longest Day" by Cornelious Ryan. Happy reading. ------------------ I'm sorry, we haven't the facilities to take all of you prisoner. 6. I really enjoyed this scenario (playing as the germans) Spoiler*** Especially when the Amis rolled 4 shermans on me on the first turn w/ no inf. support. "Pang", went the panzerschencks! 4 shermans brewing up. But IMO the Amis were a bit timid for the rest of the op. They attacked strongly w/ inf. on the first night tunr pushing me back 1 map. After that, howver they did not attack in force again until the last turn. And they never got anywhere near the bridges. Still, an enjoyable op. I would be interested to take on a live opponent instead of AI in this one! ------------------ I'm sorry, we haven't the facilities to take all of you prisoner. Was there anything else?

 8. IMO, both are good games, but CM is better. I can't argue which is more enjoyable. I hear that the next CC will cover the Utah Beach and beyond campaign. I am curious if anyone who played CC in the past will now pass on CC5 because of CM? Your opinions? I think that the two compliment eachother well, but I don't know how much I will enjoy another CC after CM. ------------------ I'm sorry, we haven't the facilities to take all of you prisoner. 9. I believe that the Hungarians had a "fast corps" on this front. Something akin to a motor-rifle division? Would be interesting to see that as well as Hungarian, Italian n Romanian armour included. Too bad about the Poles. Maybe they will be included in CM4, the early years. BTW, I beleive that there was a Spanish volunteer corps involved in the siege of Lenningrad, but they were uniformed and equipted as germans so far as I have read. Cheers. ------------------ I'm sorry, we haven't the facilities to take all of you prisoner. Was there anything else?
 10.
quote:
Originally posted by Loki: I doubt the Italians will be there. As for the rest its possible. Its gonna be on the eastern front from what I have read.

Wouldn't it be lovely to see tanketts racing across the steppe! ------------------ I'm sorry, we haven't the facilities to take all of you prisoner. 11. What are the chances that we will see Poles, Romanians, Bulgarians, Italians or Finns? ------------------ I'm sorry, we haven't the facilities to take all of you prisoner. Was there anything else?
 12. For anyone looking to design scenarios for Market-Garden I have two books to highly recommend. First is "Band of Brothers" by Stephen E. Ambrose and "It Never Snows In September" by Robert J. Kershaw. "Snows" is a particularly interesting account being told entirely from the German perspective and documentation. It's chock full of scenario making ideas. My first plan will be to do Grabners assault on the bridge from the south end. PS. The Arnhem Operation was way too easy for the british (when played by a human!). I look forward to hearing of new scenarios in this arena! ------------------ I'm sorry, we haven't the facilities to take all of you prisoner. Was there anything else?
 13. I have downloaded version 1.03 to my computer but I haven't figured out how to load it into the game. I am lame. If you leave me any instructions here please make them easy to follow (idiot-speak), as I am lame. Thanks for the help. PS. I love this f*cking game! ------------------ I'm sorry, we haven't the facilities to take all of you prisoner. Was there anything else?
