Ricochets can hit other units. It something to watch out for, especially if you have infantry advancing alongside ubertanks like some of the German ones. A 75mm can bounce off the tank and wound nearby infantry.
IIRC, there was a screenshot of that somewhere in the CM advance pics on CMHQ. Not sure if it's still accessible though.

And pistols and mortars.
-
I've had a 2" (or maybe a 3", not sure yet) shell my Panther on turn one, and kill the TC.
-
Also hard-coded are pistols, mortars, the "shells" in flight, and I think tracers.

No, no, get it right... He's daydreaming about the swaying grass skirts on those babes in Tahiti... which is where he and the rest of the BTS crew will take long-deserved vacations after CMBB is released

Just a clarification... ATI cards on Macs show fog... but not for PC's.
-
Unfortunately, there is, and will be no way around it. ATI cards do not support fog tables. If you Really want fog, and can afford it, you can get a decent 32mb Nvidia-based video card for anywhere from $50 to $100. I got a 32mb TNT2 card for just over $60 some time back, and it works great.
I'll see about getting some screenshots, but you also might want to check CMHQ and see if there might be some there in the meantime.

Yeah, and don't forget the requirement to REGISTER every single mod just because...
( One of the dumbest things about XP is having to register every single darn thing. Don't wipe your hard drive or else... Heaven forbid your hard drive fails accidentially.)

Ah, thank you Ryan

In several tournaments I have played, the battle creator has both sides send a list of their purchases to him, based on whatever battle parameters he has set. He then purchases them for both players, and sends the battle out to the first player. The game then commences from both side's Setup phase.

Well, seeing as how we don't have that problem, and haven't, except for the tragedy bringing out some sometimes odd behavior in some people
, I really don't see this forum becoming anything like that.
-
Call me ignorant, but I thought ordering it through this site was the Only way of getting it? Is BTS allowing someone else to take online orders?
ps (Never heard of Store4war)

If that is indeed a rear turret MG mount, will the firing effects (ie to the rear turret arc) be modeled? I think there was some discussion a while back about the rear turret mg's of some Russian tanks, back when the multiple turreted AFV's were being discussed as well.

Kapelsche Veer is really nice. Great job Rune!

Yeah, unfortunately all 8" guns were phased out by 1998 in favor of 155mm (the M109 Paladin SPA being predominant) and the MLRS.
-
You won't know for sure if you damaged the gun, even with detailed hits on. You will see 'gun damaged' yes, but only the tank owner will know if it was actually damaged.
I know this because I got a 'gun damage' hit on a German PzIV one game, so next turn I moved a tank out into a good LOS to finish it off, and the Panzer returned fire, taking out my Sherman. My opponent told me the gun was hit, but not damaged.

What? No comments from Pippu? How can we take this as gospel without his years of wisdom?
-
Possibly 37mm AT guns even? Maybe he means man-carried .50 cal's? IIRC the 57mm Recoilless didn't really show up until early 45 during the experimental combat trials of new weapons (including the Pershing).

Well, look at it this way...
Snow = white (more or less)
Foxholes = Brown (ie dug-up dirt)
Makes them kind of obvious in the snow.
Now talking about camouflage is another matter.

And the Germans used artificial moonlight during the opening night attacks of the Battle of the Bulge. So it obviosly wasn't limited to one side or force.
-
Unfortunately, there is no way to stack commands in that way. Best bet is to trust in the AI to get the heck in cover

The graphic symbol is hardcoded for vehicles although not for infantry sound contacts. Making a symbol for wheeled vehicle sound contacts only would require a change in the game's coding since wheeled vehicles are normally given the Light Armor symbol. The game does not distinquish bettwen a light tracked sound contact and a wheeled sound contact.

Sounds like the common FSAA problems with the latest drivers. You might want to read some of the other posts on the subject. But I'm sure Schrullenhaft will be by shortly to share his knowledge
Will my machine run this game OK?
in Combat Mission - Tech Support

It should run okay. I used to run it on a P233, 64mb RAM, and 4mb S3 Verge video card. But as Schrullenhaft said, you will lose some of the video effects. Possibly no fog effect. And the command/target/move lines will probably be one color instead of several (at least, that's what I suffered). But gameplay should be fine except in the larger scenarios, which will run Very slowly.
