Could you appoint a standy by player as a team substitute so he could be brought off the bench as and when required by a team? -

Fantastic, thanks. I've not played in a tourney before either, I've only just started playing CM:BB pbem, although I'm 'fairly familiar' with CM:BO. Look forward to it all kicking off. -

I used to live in Wales, does that count? If so, count me in, I can't be left out of the UK business. -
CDV 1.02 Released....I think
Dr.Juzzy replied to Von Viniga's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
If its any consolation to any UK users out there with Freeserve as their ISP I carried through Bulldog's suggestion and it didn't seem, I stress seem, to make a difference (that doesn't make it a bad suggestion and I'm sincerely grateful for all the help he has offered ). I just changed the IE's Security settings to Low (Tools | Internet Options | Security) and, with Download Accelerator still active, I downloaded the patch with Resume supported to avoid any tears before bedtime. Many thanks to veryone for providing some guidance omn this matter. Another c, c, coup for CDV -
Me too, I've not played CMBB pbem yet, drop me a line.

That would be nice Well, I'm interested in the first seige of Koenigsburg 27th January - 26th February, particularly the attack by the German garrison of Koenigsburg (5h Pz. & 1st ID) in concert with the forces in Samland (561st VG. Div.) that reopened the land corridor with the west during the 19th and 20th February. I'm really after anything to do with the fighting in Metgethen. It's a novel encounter, but GD wasn't present. Alternatively do you have any detailed maps of the area of covered by the Heiligenbeil cauldron? Didn't GD try and break into or out of this kessel?

Yes, it does, thanks. I agree, its very difficult to get information on this apsect of the war in English. I'll chase the references you gave. I've found some interesting material in Hans Holztrager's 'In a Raging Inferno: Combat Units of the Hitler Youth 1944 - 45', but its onlt a few pages (cracking photos though, including a rare one from within Konigsberg itself). I'm also interested in the fighting around Upper Silesia during the same period. If only we had a comparable draft of Georg Gunter's 'Last Laurels' for East Prussia!

Hello everybody. What with Christmas and all I've finally had the opportunity to get stuck into CM:BB and my Ostfront reading. I've just finished Christopher Duffy's excellent 'Red Storm on the Reich' and was wondering whether any of you educated chaps could point me in the direction of material, in English, relating to the fighting in and around the Heiligenbeil Cauldron, the fortres-city of Konigsburg or the Samland peninsula. I was thinking about designing some scenaros around the fighting in this region, so any material, particularly maps, would be very welcome. Oh, and a Happy New Year to you all. Many thanks, Justin.

Crikey I agree - it's a whopper. I got the non-censored version after a multi-evening download session, but now it seems CDV have realised their mistake and posted a new d/l. I can't believe they've copied skins off the CD, what are they doing? Where can I add my name to the long list of anti-CDViks? -
Apologies for using a public arena to communicate personally. Just to let you know that my computer has melted and that's why I've not been able return our pbem turn. I've no access at home to a pc - doh. Should be back on track from this weekend onwards. Sorry for any inconveninece. All the best, Justin.

I've seen photo's of those ones with 'IVAN' painted on the commander's turret and 'OLGA' on the drivers hatch. My attention was first drawn to it because of the rear spoiler on the back of the engine compartment. -

Andreas - I've only seen examples marked up 01, on a orange field with rear mounted air-horn, attrributed to a rifle brigade under Marshal Lee, Belgrade 1945. Does this count? Mr. Noobie - I believe a hand painted Sokolov chassis will be an optional extra in the official CM:BB Ladder Players expansion set.
