1. Tasman Try doing a search in the Tech Support area. I believe this problem or a very similar one has already been discussed and answered. I just don't remember the recommendations. Elmo
 2. Greg If deleting the prefs file doesn't work, you might have to use a different driver. In my case (Diamond Stealth III s540 Xtreme) I had to use a slightly _older_ driver to get 1024 X 768. For some reason the latest driver caused CM to drop to 800 X 600. Elmo
 3. thepow When you get a chance to check fog could you please post whether you can see it or not? I have a Diamond Savage4 card and don't see it so I'm curious. Thanks. Elmo
 4. Thanks to BTS, MadMatt, and all the other unsung testers behind the scenes, for your continued support of this excellent game. Elmo
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by thepow: Actually I get fog and transparent buildings using my Voodoo2 1000 accelerator card. I also get fog and transparent things using the savage4 card by itself. My problem is I get lockups all the freakin time!

What kind of Savage 4 card do you have? Thanks. Elmo

I'll go over and do a quick check and see. Hope you got it fixed. Zamo

Zamo Does fog work with your Viper 770? I haven't read of anyone with a Diamond card seeing fog effects. Thanks. Elmo
 7.
quote:
Originally posted by DEF BUNGIS: Hey elmo: I have the Savage 4 chipset on a creative labs card. Same thing, I get a little fog, but overall the card does a pretty sucky job of showing fog in CM. I got my card tweaked in about 9 million different directions, but from what I gather from other posts, it's an accross the board problem with these chipsets. Little or no fog at all.

Well in that case maybe we need to email S3 for a fix rather than the individual card makers. Elmo
 8. I contacted Diamond about not seeing fog with their Stealth III S540 Xtreme card (Savage 4 chip) and their Viper 2 card (Savage 2000 chip). Here is the reply: "Fog tables should work with this chipset, yes. I'll send the original message up, and see if we can have it looked into. It's a pretty minor (non-fatal) issue but I'll report it to see if it's happened before, etc." If anyone else has a Diamond card and is not getting fog I would urge you to email their tech support through the website at www.diamondmm.com. It sounds like this may only get attention if enough people point out the problem. Elmo
 9. Perhaps they have stockpiled ammo? See pg. 61 in the manual. Elmo

 11.
quote:
Originally posted by Cort: 3-D blaster savage 4 card anyone get fog ?

Cort I have a Diamond Stealth III S540 Xtreme which is a Savage 4 card and I only get very faint fog. Some have pointed out that the Savage 4 hardware supports fog tables, but the drivers are probably not handling it properly. I'm talking to the folks at Diamond about a patch for the drivers. I'll mention that others are having fog problems with the Savage 4 too. You might need to contact your particular card maker about a driver fix though. Elmo
 12.
quote:
Originally posted by TeAcH: Are there any plans on making the fog compatible with a card like my Viper 2, if the Viper 2 does allow fog (just a different type)? Thanks TeAcH

TeAcH I also have fog problems with my Stealth III S540 Xtreme which is Savage4 based. I've contacted Diamond about it, but they want to know if others are having the same problem. I'll indicate that you do not see fog with your Viper 2 card. If others with Diamond cards are having trouble with fog, could they post here too so I can let Diamond know? Thanks. Elmo [This message has been edited by Elmo (edited 07-22-2000).]
 13. Steve I have a Diamond Stealth III s540 Xtreme and I only get a very faint hint of fog even with weather on full. Tried it with fog tables off and then I get no fog. Tried the latest drivers, but then CM refuses to allow any resoultion greater than 800 X 600. When I use an older driver I can get my desktop setting of 1024 X 768. Haven't tried the Reactor Critical drivers yet. I emailed Diamond to ask for a fix but no reply yet. Elmo
