Well, since you speak of it... No, in game terms, it is totally indifferent if the infantry squad is near the building walls or 10m in... Btw, as we are at it, fire 10 area fire HE rounds into a target 10 m inside a building, that you will see very little effect... some suppression, 1 or 2 casualties. (I'm talking about German 75L24 and 76mm Soviet guns) I wont say much here, as I don't have much time for “beta-testing” nor I want "gamey" tactics to be made out of this post... Just be warned; if it wasn't for the fact that AFVs carry more HE rounds then C ones, this kind of posts would more then triple At first looks, this might look a redundant observation… it isn’t

Just a small clarification it wasn't one shot, it were 2 shots fired at same time (obviously by different units). Anyway in my view this doesn't weaken your thought/comments. A canister round probably wouldn't make it inside of an heavy building... but if indeed it goes inside (through a window or a door for instances), it should be very lethal. Of course, something should be taken into account when determining the disable in these situations, buildings in CM are abstractions, so they include rooms we don't see... In fighting situations I doubt 11 men would be packed together in a given room, so these room divisions would “tune” down the canister effect.

A bug? A feature?? A cheat???
Tanaka replied to Kaiser Soze 71's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
That would not only be technically difficult but also illegal to perform... That’s for orders “delay times” propose... not for the displayed troops quality (regulars, veterans or whatever). -

Tanaka replied to Kaiser Soze 71's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
By coding definition it can't be a bug, also this is no "for the masses" console game, so it isn't a cheat either... As for a feature... It isn't in the manual; neither do I have the code nor the time to test it effectively. So, once more, I will trust these guys judgment in whatever is in the game code... obviously, until the day Did my logic betrayed me somewhere? Did it help ? At least it would be logical... if they shared LOS. [ January 03, 2003, 09:14 AM: Message edited by: Tanaka ]

This part put me thinking... "Maybe I still can join...Maybe, if some one drops on the last minute ". Well, I don't know how I missed this thread for the last 22 days; maybe I have been busy or just a little blinded Better late then never… Today I read the 1st page, then the 9th, so don't flame me to much if this is already answered in between Can I join? Can I?

Who said ampulomets were a $#&% ?
Tanaka replied to Tanaka's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
No, one of them was open top, but the hit that got it was a "front upper hull armour penetration". The 2nd was StuG III B and the 77m hit that got it was a 3 cm side armour penetration... Btw, I don't see many ventilation openings on a side armour of a StuG, but that is not a problem... It’s just that the ampulomet had a very good day and the StuG a very bad one…. I hope -

...but wouldn't that be "gamey" ? ohh, sorry, this is a game ! Btw, that remembers me of the "tank hunters" army... an all front of tank hunters, with their joke of AT "weapons", but most important, with their SMGs ! -
...but leave "reinforcements" out of small maps, or they run the risk of becoming “teleportments".

Yes,yes, I knew that, I was j/k... the all intention was to "rant" those who said the weapon was useless. Talking about that, right this day, I think this is the new über-über-weapon. Has about tomorrow, well tomorrow it's a new day,for sure a new über-weapon will show up -
Well, I was told they were some kind of “cocktail Molotov” launchers… No danger, ridiculous weapon, they were more dangerous to the crew then to the enemy and so on… you get the picture. So, I went to my “virtual live”… every time I saw one, I thought to my self: “ it’s just a bunch of kids playing with fire, they will end up hurting themselves!” In one turn, 2 of these things, on different points of the map got armour “penetrations” (and KO) in 2 AFVs of mine, one of them being 30mm of armour at 77m ! Now, indulge me, how can a cocktail Molotov penetrate 3cm of steel at 77 meters?

...and other same kind posts. LOL... I'm touched If you excuse me, I advocate the contrary... Every one should read, and every one should know what only a few (I'm going by your judgment here) privileged knew. Of course, now it is too late for most of the players (to them, I'm sorry), next time a thing like this happens, I will post it earlier myself. Just one more thing, a small one... It is not "reinforcement", it is "teleportment"... Yes, yes, I meant those from star trek and Cpt. Kirk [ December 13, 2002, 06:46 PM: Message edited by: Tanaka ]

why ffow in rd tournament and not efow?
Tanaka replied to legend42's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Even if it were possible, it would be of no use.... I know every unit that go into that map by their name together with their possible starting positions -
Interesting, I also e-mailed Cyberfox “whining" about the “problems” in the 1st round scenario... and I thinking I was alone, well, guess we are never alone

Just one small thing... "zip" txt files, would serve no propose. For the CM save game file, "zip" may only be an option, for people with a poor e-mail service (where the mail server makes a poor decode/code work and messes the file). -
Alone "above of" ... But it is Generally used has a prefix meaning “superiority” and “after”.

May I suggest Capitalist-dog-in-a-penal-colony (uuhhh, I can fell the flames  ) Keep Mao's little red book... that way you will always remember how you tricked them Now seriously, good luck... I've never been there, but I hear the Oz land can be a real pleasant place. -
How to tow Russian 76 or 85mm AA gun ?
Tanaka replied to Monty's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Yeesss... but the Soviet truck has a transport capability of 8 (the German truck has a TC of 8, but they have the Sd Kfz 7 with transport capability of 9). At least until the end of 42 (and I suspect until the end), the Soviets don't have any vehicle capable of transporting a class 9 gun. [ November 06, 2002, 10:12 PM: Message edited by: Tanaka ] -
How to tow Russian 76 or 85mm AA gun ?
Tanaka replied to Monty's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Those guns are truly immobile... No Russian vehicle has transport capabilities to them... There must be a reason for that... or not Maybe their setup time was bigger then the CM battle scope ? [ November 06, 2002, 06:27 PM: Message edited by: Tanaka ] -
Short and fast answer... no But a good CM commander should know his entire force by its Sergeants names
