  1. Slip me another bottle and I forget all about silverware.
  2. I also have a deep seated passion against buying a printer. Spend most of my day getting crap into a computer.
  3. Went home and booted the D-Day scenario over lunch for the first time. Hung up and failed to load. Shut down program and got the following. Running DirectX 9.0c. A system reboot and then it loaded fine. Seems a bit odd that it just decided to start doing that now. btw, D-Day looks great.
  4. I love a printed manual. I like to be able to look up a table or something else while playing the game. Beats the heck out of jumping out and having to boot up a pdf.
  5. Excellent! I'm running a Geforce3 Ti 200 btw. Old drivers but they've never given a problem on anything else. Any word on a zoom out? My monitor only does 1024x768.
  6. Played the Norway scenario last night. My impression. Boy, you sure can research a heck of a lot of stuff when you can't buy any units!!!
  7. So I can digital download if my pre-order still hasn't shown up by release? Cool. What file size are we possibly looking at anyway? On the old dialup with the game machine.
  8. That worked out just fine. Thanks Hubert! Great game, BTW, but you already know that [/QB]</font>
  9. Yeah, I can see why it's done the way it's done. Less programming work to do it that way. However, it's more work for me clicking back and forth. Which is more important here. Ah well, as long as it's on the to-do list. And don't forget my blinking units on the mini-map. In fact, as long as you're at it, have them quit blinking after I've moved them and just display steady state. There, now I just freed up that Next Unit button for something else. Please send me $5. 10. I'm not sure about that. I think a dotted line on the main map would be more useful than the Convoy map. With the understanding that it's only a general location of the route. In other words, you only have to be close (say 2 or 3 squares either side), not parked right on top of the thing. Would be nice if the route changed over time too. Then parking on top of it does no good, as the route would just naturally wander away (except at the port ends). Plus, parking right on top would seem to be hazardous to a u-boat's health.
  11. Perhaps you are running at the minimum resolution of 1024x768? If your system supports a higher resolution such as 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 much more of the game map will be shown. The game setting can be manually edited in the SC2.ini file but probably the best way to do this is to re-install the demo and select a higher resolution if supported. </font>
  12. No, still there. I just ran home and tried it over lunch. Maybe it'll go away tonight. I'll post my specs later. However, tried the 2-d units and they work fine. Must be the mirroring issue for the 3-d on my system that makes them display all screwed up. Sniff, going to miss those super-duper all-in-one Tank/Inf/AF/HQ units...
  13. I saw that. I'm just saying you could get a little more use out of the world map than just popping about the screen. Put some unit markers on it and I'll know where to go. No need to flip back and forth. Btw, Next Unit toggles have always been a pain in the *ss to me. But I'll try it again. Perhaps you should re-label it Unmoved Units if that's what it really does?
  14. Seems I'm zoomed in just a little too much on the main screen. Possible zoom in/out? Also, the small area map below, would be nice if markers could be added there for at least my units, like on the Strategic Map. Just dots would be ok, nothing fancy (maybe blinking for ones that haven't moved yet?) Would save clicking back and forth to find that sub out there somewhere that I totally forgot about and haven't move since 1939.
  15. I get a weird deal on the unit sprites. The game displays all the sprites for every unit in one spot. Happens after the computer move so must be some sort of rendering bug. Goes away after you make a move or two, then the units display correctly. i.e. -just inf, instead of inf, tank, plane,hq,para, etc. Also, when you drag a unit around to make a move, the square background that you're considering going to turns pure white sometimes. Anybody else seen this? Running a older geforce3 video card with the latest directx, so everything should be up to snuff there on drivers.
  16. If you were an Uncle instead of a Grandma, you would have taught her to flush the good silverware down the toilet too. Hey, bears gotta eat…
  17. Upgraded the ancient PII 350 to a PIII 500 that I dug out of a throwaway Compaq piece o' junk. Sheesh, Compaq doesn't even put a fan on the heatsink, the cheap SOB's. So I had use a little shade tree engineering and kinda delicately balance the old fan from the PII on top of the PIII. Everything runs fine as long as I don't bu
