If you're on a PC, best/easiest is via www.FRAPS.com for ingame screenshots.
Give a description of issue encountered - the more specific the better - plus screenshot(s), and if possible, a save game file and send it to me. Details in profile.
Regards.
Are you a beta tester or something?
Just curious since I read your profile and it didn't mention anything about Battlefront
Thx

Just post a description of the 'bug' and include pictures if you are able to. When one of the beta testers asks you for a save game file you can then send it to them and they will ensure that the appropriate people see it.
Ok, what is the easiest way to take a screenshot?
I tried using Alt-Prt Scrn, Ctrl-Prt Scrn and just Prt Scrn and nothing works (when I try to paste in mspaint, I just get a black screen)
I would prefer not to install any software just to take screenshots
Thx

Ok, it is happening for me again in a game I am playing.
Even if I do it from a waypoint, the SAME LOS happens.
If anyone knows how to take a screenshot, I can post

Either use Print Screen and then paste the screenshot to a picture editing program, or use a screen capturing program.
How do you use Print Screen to grab a screenshot?
When I hit print screen (or alt print screen) and paste to mspaint, I just get a black screenshot
Thx

All,
If there seems to be a bug, where can we send the saved game file to?

You can test the water (hah!) by selecting the unit you had in mind and hovering the mouse cursor over the intervening terrain.
But if I tell a halftrack to go over a fence, this will not tell me if they will attempt to go over or will replot a course

As above: HUNT = Move to Contact, then stop
Did you know that at each waypoint you can select one of the Combat orders (under the "C" tab in the UI) for each waypoint? Imagine you've plotted a 5 waypoint movement order, a,b,c,d, and of course, e.
Select the first segment, which ends at "a" and open your Combat orders. Perhaps choose TARGET.
Next segment, ending at "b", select TARGET LIGHT
For "c", how about TARGET ARC?
"d" seems like it needs TARGET
"e", the finish, would like a FACE
If you move in an inverted V, start, mid, end; Go FAST, at the mid pause for, oh, 20 seconds with a COVERED ARC, then REVERSE back to the end. Move, shoot, reverse.
Etc.
Ken
Wow, thanks
I didn't realize this was all possible!!

Not sure if this is in the works (or if it is even possible) but is there any chance BF could patch it so that when you are plotting moves, it tells you (graphically) that the move is going to be replotted around an obstacle?
What I mean is that if you tell a tank to go through a bush, it will tell you that it will drive through whereas if you try to drive through a bocage, it will tell you it is not possible.
I am playing a map where I don't know if the water is deep enough to drive/walk through

All,
Does anyone know a way to implement this with the current set of actions?
Thx

I just saw the same thing yesterday, I'll be investigating it. The line should originate from the original waypoint, but it should calculate from the next one. However, it wasn't appearing to do so.
Yeah, I thought I noticed that as well on occasion.
I will keep my eye out for it

Or simply use the tool to check LOS without assigning a fire command.
Use the tool? Huh?

All,
I thought I read somewhere that you could click on a waypoint and use the target command to see what can be seen from that waypoint.
Is this correct or am I thinking of something else?
Thx

Awesome, I guess we really don't need a QB map generator as long as people keep making them for us!!

Panthers were actually fairly common in Normandy. Tigers, on the other hand, were not. Neither were the 76 mounted Shermans for that matter. So yeah, if someone really has a problem with point balancing... play with Rarity enabled. Strict or Loose, it's going to present a better set of choices than with Rarity Off. It's why Rarity exists in the first place
Steve
Can someone give me an idea what the difference between strict and loose?
Thx

Yes, makes sense now
I am just doing a QB battle via PBEM
I will have to look again

All,
I have a mortar team (5 guys I believe) and there are 2 guys who have the title of mortar ammo bearer.
When I click on them, I do not see any mortars as part of their equipment.
What use are they? Are they actually carrying some of the ammo for the team but don't display it OR do they have no mortars and can be used to scout?
Thx

Are all these mods only for the PC?
The reason i ask is my friend has a Mac and I sent him some mods and he said they didn't work for him

Is there an easy way to see if a tank is buttoned up or not?
I believe in CMx1 it was on the graphical display at the bottom

How do you get this mod to work?
I took the 4 or 5 .bmp files and put them in my Z folder and when I start up a game, I do not see the grids
Thx

Has anyone tried this yet?
Is it good human vs human?
What about AI vs human? Which side?
Thx

I looked at the mod and pics and couldn't tell exactly what this does.
Do you have a bigger screenshot showing the difference?
I would love to have a gridded battlefield that modders did for the CMx1
Thx

All,
I was wondering, how do you go about purchasing units for a small battle?
Everything I see on the screen says Battalion
What if I just want a squad or platoon?
Thx

I have been playing Iron from day one and the main difference I see is that the enemy icons are generic - it's harder to establish what kind of enemy unit you are facing. C2 works fine for me. You just have to keep your sub-units in contact and use WW2 formations and battle drills.
I could have sworn with Elite the same thing about the icons being generic happens
Thx

All,
I preordered a couple of months ago and I still have not gotten an email about it shipping out.
Is anyone else in the same boat?
Thx

Target spread possible?
in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Posted
All,
If I want to have my armor shoot at a place for 10 secs, then another place for 10 secs and so on, how do I do it?
I assume you just issue a target order and pause for 10 secs and then move it and rinse and repeat.
Is this correct? Is there another way which is more efficient?
Thx
