British RASC unit - What is it?
Blackwood replied to Pak40's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
At the seige of Tobruk the Australian AASC (didn't receive Royal status til after wars end) units defended the perimeter, longer than any other unit! Go Truckies. Ron -
Maybe a spoiler Playing User made operation, Brussel, the campaign came to an abrupt ending. Playing as the Jerries, at the end of battle 6 suddenly credited a Total victory. US casualities, were 1499 222 veh destroyed. The Germans 429 cas 12 pillboxes 32 veh. The odd thing is that I only a total of 11 up to this battle and my guesstimate, was around 50 US vehs. My casualities had totalled 79 by the end of turn 5, but suddenly lost 350 in last battle, just little odd. Checked out the Operation using the editor and the US had nothing like 200 Vehicles, is this a bug? Ron

Good day, I'm currently playing the Ops Brussel, noticed unusual occurence in squad make up after about four battles, I have two PzGren Pioneer squads, both with different F/P one with 241 & the other 268. When I checked the configurations one had 4 LMG and the other 2. One 2 MP44 and one none. Is this a small bug or is it the way the Op AI distributes the Replacements at the end of each battle. Good day Smack, I just bought a TNT 2 PCI. I have a low end machine and it has certainly improved my performance in CM. Doesn't appear to have any compatability problems and is a pretty cheap buy at $A140. very happy, getting all the benifits such as translucent smoke etc. Ron

Blackwood replied to Zamo's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
47 but who cares I'm Happy. My age is good excuse for coming last in my BFAs (fitness tests). people running them, think I'm slow and old, but the truth is I like watching those 19 & 20 year old girlie bums bobbing up and down. Ron -
And we use to complain about Capt. Manieri JP leaves him for dead! Long live Benny. Ron

You keep asking the same question anything from 10 days to 4 weeks. -
I loved Napoleonic figurines from 90 to 200mm, and armoured vehicles, sadly bought a computer about 10 years ago and modelling went by the wayside. Ron

You need to copy the BMP files as individual files into the main BMP directory. When you're done, there should be NO sub-directories inside your BMP directory. Charles

Yep I'm a dope! When I'd check for additional directories before I have looked for new bmp dir, wasn't there but ignored the 1.01 dir just dum I guess. I did extract into a temp directory then copy across, but didn't work not to worry all sorted out now, sorry for wasting your time, but I'm happy now those new explosions are great, thanks for heading me in the right direction Ron

Charles, Does the screen shot give you a good idea of what I'm talking about? Do you need anymore info? Ron

Bts, please assist me overcoming this white expanding block. I have ascertained its a problem is with the 1.01 CM exe file up date not the graphics. I have uninstalled and installed twice and still got the problem. Using all the latest drivers. Using Tnt2 pci card. pent 233 80 meg ram and v7a DX. Would show you a screen capture not sure how to import onto board. I can get new explosions. please help getting a little pissed. Ron

To add a little trivia to this thread, once read that 90% of police shoot outs were in 7 metre distance from crooks to goodies and 75 to 80% of all shots fired missed, and you're worried about 1 panzerfaust! [This message has been edited by Blackwood (edited 07-21-2000).]

(Strange) Tales from the Front
Blackwood replied to IntelWeenie's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
I just played QB in heavy fog v/hilly terrain, I had Pl of Gebirgsjager Pioneers hiding on crest as pl of Brit inf ran up the hill the Gebirg Pl wipe out the Brits in about 25 seconds no survivors at no loss, which gets me to another thread on the board, favorite unit, that action has just convinced me, if I am in a scenario with limited visability, a couple pl of Gebirgs will high on the purchase list. I'm still having My expandinding square prob Steve Charles any ideas, just dl Dx7a no change. Everything else is great but glitch is pissing me off I know other people have had this problem Has anyone managed to fix it? ron

Has anyone else experienced Us atomic grenades. Justfinished playing a QB Germans vs US a Panther decided pit its self against A US Pl Hq at about 20 metres, the panther fired its main gunned 4 times + MGs no apparent damage, US HQ throw Grenade, dead tank! Thinking his was a bit odd replayed sequence another 4 times via auto save panther every time, gotta be something out of whack here. grenades aren't that good. Charles any thoughts of cranking down the lethal effect of grenades. Ron

quote:
Originally posted by Schrullenhaft: Assuming that you've used the v. 1.01 patch (and your CD wasn't originally v. 1.02)... Did you copy the new BMPs (1720-1729) to the BMP directory ? They can't be in a subdirectory within the BMP folder or they won't be "seen".

Yes, I copied everything across correctly, I am getting the effects of the new explosins but it is followed by the expanding white square, I have checked to see if the new bmp files are there and they are. Is there any settings I need to change on my card? Ron By the way thanks for your input Schrullenhaft [This message has been edited by Blackwood (edited 07-16-2000).]
