  1. HI guys,

My old pent 200 with voodoo 2 card and soudblaster 64 card can cope with CM but only just.

I can upgrade to P3 600 with the same grapics and sound card but is my 32 meg ram ok? The guy at the shop says 32 will be ok but what is more important for playing the game, RAM or processor speed?

I don't mind spending the bucks but I don't want to waste them.

    Comments please

  2. Hi Freyland, I've had the same problem using 'sneak' also.Obviously sneak lets your guys move stealthly around but it seems if they are under movement orders past the target they will continue to follow the movement order and not attack the target of opportunity. Target them yes but not shoot. I've had a 9 man squad sneak up to (5M distance) and past a HQ unit who proceeded to shoot my squad in the back as they sneaked quietly and slowly away (after targeting the HQ but not shooting)

My only suggestion is to use sneak only to approach an enemy then resort to run for the final attack.

Not much of an answer to your question but thats what i've come across and it's bloody annoying when it happens.

  3. HeHeHeHe, I am home now enjoying a beer and for all my American friends, I know you are all tucked up in your beds. I have this board all to myself!!!!HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Oh the power, the limitless power!!!!

Plus check out the member status, thats right boys I can now move freely through the ranks of the CM veterans, pro's and top guns, assuming the wisdom and status that comes with 'member' status.

I've been penged and survived, I've achieved member status and I've got crates of home brew at my disposal!

Another brewski and I'm gonna invade Poland!

    Slurr'in Stuka out

  4. Thank you pengy old bean, that was great!

To have been penged and lost is better than to have never been penged at all.

Did the peanut gallery have fun, too?

One point while we're making things easy to read, Crucifixition is a doddle, not a 'doodle'. A doodle is something you may have a little bit of a fixation with. Thank you for sparing the time to contemplate the size of mine....

    and look, no smilies!!!!!

I never did like them anyway.

Best I go home and have a beer now to recover from the abuse, strange, I do feel somehow the better for it.

    Shot to bits Stuka out

  5. The ammo dump question has been covered before, i think.

In a game that is meant to simulate 60 minutes of real combat, there would generally be no time to send vehicles back, load them up and return them to the front lines ( under fire) before either the game is over or the units dead/captured.So do the best you can with what youv'e got!! smile.gif

  6. As a great man once said (probably)

"I shall weather the storm of your penging, for whatever does not kill me will only make me stronger" tongue.gif

As for german boy and mark iv, you guys really know how to make a new guy feel welcome. I'm glad you're not my squad leaders, my first day in your platoons and you'd have me digging out land mines with my dick. (easily done of course!) biggrin.gif

    Roll on member status!!!

  7. Thanks for the replies guys, we were in the thick forest at the time but at only 5 metres range my germans should have been able to reach out and poke the HQ guys with their bratwurst sausages!

I didn't give the order to target the HQ though, maybe this was the problem but at that range they should have seen the danger for themselves.

The idea behind sneak mode is to move quietly and attack targets as they present themselves, is this correct? I could have said move or run but there has to be a benefit to using 'sneak'

  8. While playing VoT as the germans against the AI, I sent a rested, 9 man rifle squad in sneak mode after a US platoon HQ with 2 of their 4 men already dead. Imagine my suprise/horror when the germans walked to 5 metres of the HQ (facing them)and then continued to walk away! At this time the 2 yankees started pistol shoot'in with the result they took out 2 of my squad and left the rest lying on the ground in panic mode.

I thought sneak mode let you move quietly until contact was made with the enemy. Was the danger posed by the 2 HQ guys not enough to let the squad override my sneak order?

    Any thoughts? confused.gif
