Ok, I've run out of ideas. I keep having CM freeze up at random times...the mouse pointer still moves, but nothing else. If I use the three finger salute four times, my system will reboot normally, without scandisk running. After this, I can go back to the last autosave, and everything is fine for a while (maybe a day, maybe a minute). I have a PII-333 with an Asus 7700 Geforce 2 GTS. I have tried almost all of the Asus and Nvidia drivers from 5.13 to 6.35. I did a clean install of Windows ME. I have tried various resolution and FSAA settings, and nothing is running except explorer and systray. Any other ideas? Matt? Anyone? Thanks, Craig

Sorry to rain on everyone's parade here, but *I* will be the first to receive it! Why?? Well, the holdup in getting a parcel from across the border is not Canada Post, but Customs. As I am the only one (as far as I know) who ordered from this God-Foresaken part of the country, the customs people here only have to see if you can make a gun out of my one package, instead of the dozens that will arrive in the East. Of course, the mail truck could burst into flames just as it pulls into town also, and destroy my well thought out theory. Craig (either thinking too much or not enough again)

Ahh yes, you are both correct about my apologizing, but as I am a poor weakened shell of a man since recently throwing the yoke of nicotine off my shoulders (and finally getting some oxygen to my shrivelled brain), I felt that I did not have the strength to resist an aforementioned flame war due to the aforementioned misunderstanding due to the lack of smilies. My (German) opponent in a game of VoT kept complaining that his men *were* getting into the wine cellars, as they hardly returned fire at all. I never thought much of it at the time, but maybe this is one of the features that BTS was going to surprise us with when the full game is shipped. It actually doesn't matter, as despite the attempts of Peng (and many others on this board), Smilies will continue to not only survive, but to flourish! And how do I know this, you may ask. Well, I have proof, and it is in my fields. As I was checking them for weeds last week, I noticed a strange new plant. Similar to a dandilion, but intead of cute fuzzy seeds that children like to blow around, it contained small round yellow discs that defy any attempt at capture and extermination. After repeated applications of chemicals that would kill full grown trees, I have noticed a thinning in their number, but they seem to adapt by producing more of these seeds(?) from the plants that remain. Currently, this new weed is only active on 600 acres of my land, but I shudder to think of what will happen when it spreads to the surrounding fields. Intensive research is required into this new problem, as not only will there be more Smilies, but if they compete with a Barley crop, there will be LESS BEER!!! Hmmm, tough question. On cool drizzly days like this, I'll come here at least 10 times, and hang out at the Annex most of the day. On the other hand, when I'm working outside, I won't check here for days at a time (but I miss it). Craig

The time has come...time to resurrect the Church of New Scenarios from the deepest depths of this forum! As Madmatt has been turned by the dark side of the Beta-Testers, there will be no eloquent prose from him as before, but just myself and anyone else who cares begging, whining, snivelling and grovelling for another demo scenario. I haven't seen the dreaded padlock in days, which shows we have been good little grognards,just waiting for the postal equivalent of Santa to bring us our most wished for toy.
