  1. Unfortunately, that little "skip" is in the original version --- but it's fairly quick. For a simple mp3 / wav converter, audio-converter works great.

  3. Frankly, I don't remember where I snagged the version I have from. But it is in .mp3 format, and only 3MB --- I converted it to .wav for CMAK. Since the Afrika Korps site download doesn't seem to be working for some reason (overload?), I can't check if it's the same version I have, so as a public service, I'll post the full .mp3 version at CMMODS.

  5. Well, at 32MB the entire song is a bit much for my lil' 'ol 56k modem to up-load without a time-out.

  7. And now, for your listening pleasure, we present the musical stylings of Marlene Dietrich singing "Lili Marlene"!* *(OK, so it's only up to the first chorus --- but at 6 MB's, I figured that was enough to replace the CMAK start-up music). For all the music lovers out there.

  9. Andrew, my old! Just discovered a little error in bitmap numbering. You've included 9291.bmp in the Faded Uniforms file as a cuff-title arm: This .bmp is actually used for late-war Luftwaffe Infantry platoon HQ legs! (See my "Barefoot Oberleutnant" thread for a nice pic of the result).
  10. Thank you! This is just what I was trying to determine. Installed Andrew's DAK uniform mod a few days back, and I was thinking that might be the cause, but wasn't sure. Now to find the offending .bmp file... Addendum: And here it is: 9291.bmp. Oh, Andrew! We need to have a little talk... [ December 29, 2003, 04:24 AM: Message edited by: von Lucke ]
  11. Awright you comedians! What about the question? Anybody else have this particular graphics problem?
  12. I know that the Airforce has a somewhat more lax standard when it comes to uniforms, but this can't be correct: Late-war Luftwaffe Infantry platoon HQ: Supply problems, or damn hippie --- you be the judge. Anybody besides me see this in game?
  13. Based on my observations (i.e; Ami rifle grenades in CMAK are used like panzerfaust rounds), I'd say the HEAT version.
  14. Oddly enough, that's what happened to a troop of Matildas attacking at Halfaya Pass during "Battleaxe": The Italian gunners knew their 47mm pop-guns could never penetrate the British tank's armor, so they blasted away at the tracks. Immobilized all six of 'em, and forced the supporting infantry to go to ground.
  15. It wasn't called the "Queen of the Desert" because of it's penchant for garish paint jobs...
  16. Have you checked the CMBB forum? Andrew has re-done every uniform for every country in the game. (We're not sure how he does it --- something about gnomes, or elves, or Dominican sweat-shops...). And yes, the Italian uni's are bella. [ December 25, 2003, 01:19 AM: Message edited by: von Lucke ]
  17. Yes, that was the reason I originaly intended to just move over the British Webley (or is it an Enfield?) revolver into the Canuck's mittened hands. Buuuuttt, since the Inglis was made in Canada, by Canadians, for Canadians, I decided to go with it. Bedides, there's already an auto in the gun-rack for Canadian sidearms, so I figured BFC had the Inglis in mind to begin with.
  18. Oh, and speaking of CW OOB's: North Africa, October 1942: Chruchill Mk IV & V's available for British Armor? There were only 6 Churchills in all of Egypt --- and they were Mk III's. They were used in the opening days of the "Lightfoot / Supercharge" offensive, then pulled from the line, and eventually shipped to Tunisia in April '43.
  19. Nope --- checked. At first I thought it was an Italian Carcano, but it's not. Just an errant CMBB .bmp. If you look around the CMAK BMP file, you'll find three or four others.
  20. AFAIK this is not mistake. Combat Mission have only Sharpshooters, so NO Snipers. Thats why you see the Garand, its a guy with good eyes and a normal Garand who is good for spotting enemy units in front of the other forces, and scare/kill a few tank commanders too. Monty </font>
  21. Well, since most of the major stuff I've already mentioned is here, I'll throw in three little graphical errors: The US sniper is holding a M1 Garand instead of the M1903 Springfield. The Canadian pistol (1907.bmp) is a Moisin-Nagant rifle. Hard-coded tripod for .50cal HMG way too small. [ December 24, 2003, 02:03 AM: Message edited by: von Lucke ]
  22. What's this all aboot then, eh? Behold: What is that in his hand, you may ask --- I certainly did. What it is not is a sidearm of any kind or description ever issued to His Majesty's loyal Canadian forces! (Actually, I think it's a Mosin-Nagant rifle, but that's neither here nor there). Not pretty. Now, I asked myself: "What would Dorosh do?" So, then, here we have an 9mm Inglis/Browning Hi-Power Mk I. Quite popular among British commandos, paratroopers, and oddly enough, Canadians. So much so, that it became standard issue to Canadian forces some time in 1944. (Look at the gun-rack image in CMAK interface, you'll see it there too). Very pretty. Now, yr asking yourself, how can I get me one o' them purty shootin' irons? Go to the source of all things CMMODs, my friends! [ December 23, 2003, 01:27 AM: Message edited by: von Lucke ]
  23. All I can say is, I've had no problems dropping various CMBB .bmp (and .wav files, for that matter) into CMAK. Yet.
