  1. This looks like a valuable resource for skin modders, map builders and such. https://petapixel.com/2020/01/28/paris-museums-put-60000-historic-photos-online-copyright-free/?fbclid=IwAR0qcYkhYYktSYuqa1-Emr88IfJAZGzJRRJLE1dVggTVvi1syiSfNEkZtEI Regards, John Kettler
  2. Music has produced all sorts of unusual instruments down through the ages, but this one's a doozy. Presenting the Pyro-Trombone, a patented device designed to remove boredom from slide trombone performances! Musician inventor Valentin Guérin performs with a woman I believe to be his sister. Regards, John Kettler
  3. This touched my heart. https://mymodernmet.com/pigeon-poppy-nest-australia/?fbclid=IwAR0j0IM_XWVxvwwKL1-cwqRYKm3LcMBPucQNpMoQk67u07CiO8uMIrvWqug Regards, John Kettler
  4. Sgt.Squarehead, Many thanks! To the above, you can add that I read almost 300 pages of Ted Bell's phenomenal Spy yesterday and way into today. Regards, John Kettler
  5. Cognitive function improved so much that this past Sunday I was finally able to have the long in the mill first game on my table, playing against brother Ed. Fortuna wasn't with me as to outcome, but I did very well on remembering things like interpreting CoC order dice and much game procedure. Was even able to teach him a few things. Also, was able to play at a pretty good clip. This is enormous progress in little over a week since my OP. Progress included building a wooden bridge practically from scratch, then making it look weathered and use worn. Overall, I love the trend line! Regards, John Kettler
  6. Erwin, Had several near misses involving a topical steroid barely detected in time to avoid putting it on my toothbrush. Working by feel alone can be disastrous. On a far cheerier note, here's a stellar building reimagining and repurposing project nearly 50 years in and still going strong. http://canyouactually.com/old-cement-factory/?fbclid=IwAR2WZvPF6YIp0LzFP40J3Xy1JxAvPjj9i1EGI5cwOM-xwDZruZnNNfyiK9w Regards, John Kettler
  7. This certainly falls under the rubric of weird news. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3253557/The-ultimate-bad-hair-day-Woman-ends-hospital-confusing-builder-s-foam-hair-mousse.html?fbclid=IwAR3bVmGEAAJTCUruWXkaT3SAUlrDqWQFAPE1OYwtyyXy3dDkJ7ugaRRTWQA Regards, John Kettler
  8. Here's how buying a simple warship photo revealed a wholly unexpected story of real historical significance. https://www.oldphotosjapan.com/photos/852/saving-battleship-mikasa?fbclid=IwAR0-4MHDOSTimTPuQmIfn49oedzOcpOh67FgN2BGI2W4A6kC2Hji0XHKR_g Regards, John Kettler
  9. Sgt.Squarehead, The dinged up A-10 nose I have no issue with, but I don't see how it's at all possible to have that view of the cannon when the gun is coplanar with the fuselage longitudinal axis. Here's an in-flight refueling video for the A-10, and there, the perspective looks right. Regards, John Kettler
  10. This looks wrong to me. Believe the gun was PSed in and appears to be mounted, not on aircraft longitudinal axis but angled up some 45 degrees. If my assessment is correct, this would put almost the entire gigantic GAU-8 dangling well below the plane and practically dangling from the muzzle. Regards, John Kettler
  11. Clearly, the rooster was in no mood to fight. Pushing the point didn't turn out well! https://wsvn.com/news/us-world/indian-man-dies-after-getting-attacked-by-his-rooster-on-their-way-to-a-cockfight/?fbclid=IwAR3w-hl2EiRGkawNngWOY9zMKpaPRV7WmLg2G8sMnDs7KPv2cfCokeWPIfg Regards, John Kettler
  12. This is great article on a bunch of levels, and a good chunk of it is directly CMFB pertinent, too. This is the true story of an extraordinary man and true warrior, whose most magnificent show of courage wasn't recognized until long after he died--all because he was black when he did it and racism was rampant. https://allthatsinteresting.com/edward-a-carter-jr?fbclid=IwAR2IYyDd_5WmNMQPvrv4BJmSWK8fhOY8kxWPhue55fMegbmSEnh-50wheUc Regards, John Kettler
  13. Returning to furries, it was furries to the rescue. Who needs to make stuff up when things like this happen?! https://wsvn.com/news/us-world/a-group-of-furries-stopped-a-domestic-violence-assault-and-helped-police-make-the-arrest/?fbclid=IwAR2gFnvVtdnVOlGN_Yp7E8yW6d6vX50xxrbie7ZhJDJu-eqKYkpOJZvAg18 Regards, John Kettler
  14. After serving the administration long and well, they were thrilled to be invited to their first cabinet meeting. Wasn't quite what they expected. Regards, John Kettler
  15. Erwin, I believe that such videos make excellent teaching tools for STEM courses. They'd have to do a NUMBERS mini-series to cover all the math in that latest one I posted. And now to weird news! After I posted the above, I saw that this was deadly serious. Here's why. Source was Chicago Tribune, but it was having site access issues. "ok i know a lot of you are laughing about this in the tags and saying they deserved it because they’re furries, but what actually happened to cause this wasn’t funny at all somebody deliberately poisoned the air on the 9th floor of the hotel with chlorine gas at about 12:40 in the morning. thousands of people were evacuated from the hotel (not all of them were there for FurFest) and nineteen people wound up in the hospital as a result of the poisoning (source) basically this was an act of terrorism and it’s actually really ****ing terrible. nobody deserves this" Regards, John Kettler
  16. Found another vid of the girl who does amazing things with a soccer ball while wearing high heels. https://ve.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ps2n4y9TKQ1y0manr.mp4 Regards, John Kettler
  17. It's called Panzerserra's Bunker and provides a wealth of material in every article, including development, technical features, combat history, pics, gorgeous illos, etc. This particular example features several exotic German AFVs, and the site uses all the information trove to do 1/35 scale models, but we can use the same articles for skins, scenario development work, figuring out rarity, unit assignments and so much more. Posting it here so this astounding resource doesn't get lost. This first example is followed by several more. Some pics have excellent shots of Panzers in Normandy in the CMBN time frame, together with lots of great building pics. https://panzerserra.blogspot.com/2014/05/bergepanther-mit-aufgesetztem-pzkpfw-iv.html?fbclid=IwAR3UxbEJcZ1Nk6ThgFi17VQXSlZNC5ZTKEYsWdoGFuXbSEIc6eG4D-UVchc Panzer III https://panzerserra.blogspot.com/2014/05/bergepanther-mit-aufgesetztem-pzkpfw-iv.html?fbclid=IwAR3UxbEJcZ1Nk6ThgFi17VQXSlZNC5ZTKEYsWdoGFuXbSEIc6eG4D-UVchc M7 Priest https://panzerserra.blogspot.com/2020/01/m7-105mm-priest-howitzer-motor-carriage.html M36 https://panzerserra.blogspot.com/search/label/M36 GMC Jackson Regards, John Kettler
  18. Back in my earliest outings with CMBN, there was a scenario in which a crater was practically worth its weight in gold when it came to keeping a US 57 mm ATG and crew in the fight, this with fire raining down from a hilltop, no less. Believe the gun killed two German ACs and a 251 haftrack before eventually being knocked out by crew casualties inflicted by a HMG. Regards, John Kettler
  19. Watched this generally well done docudrama last night. Had a bunch of footage I'd not seen before and recast others to depict what was being discussed. It's the story of the renowned and highly decorated Normandie Niemen Regiment, France's contribution to the Soviet war effort and proof the French could and would fight. 20. Sgt.Squaehead, I'll say! Learned a great deal from his presentation. Thanks for finding and posting this. Regards, John Kettler
  21. As the signage demonstrates, English language meaning varies from country to country. Regards, John Kettler
  22. Sgt.Squarehead, Oops! 1000 mg, not 100. Appreciate your support. Regards, John Kettler
  23. For years now my typical reading productivity was five pages a night at best. But since working my way up to five drops of Artizen organic CBD oil (100 mg bottle), administered sublingually, a few weeks back, I've read almost a dozen miltary thrillers, espionage novels and a few whodunits. After finding out that CBD oil was helpful for autism (Aspeberger's is on low end of the spectrum) and brain trauma, including TBIs, I educated my doctor and got his go ahead. Am I ever glad I did! Not only has my reading exploded, but I now get far more work done, too. And I can handle a lot more task variety as well. Right now, am working on book revisions, getting a script turned into a pitch video and handling art direction on Fiverr with an artist in Pakistan working up an illo for one of my books. Got my CBD oil on ebay, and it's not expensive. Wanted to pass the word that real help is both available and affordable. Please let others know. Thanks! Regards, John Kettler
