1. Thank god. Finally, something of value gets posted to the board again!! Hurrah!!!

Please PLEASE do take the opportunity to interview him, even if it is on a casual basis. Our WWII vets are disappearing every day.

So many do not want to discuss what they saw or what they experienced. Of course, this we must respect.

When the chance comes to talk to a Vet who is willing to discuss his experiences it's like finding a treasure.

I look forward to hearing about your meeting.

I would think an airplane flying a 20,000 feet at 350 miles per hour would have a HUGE advantage here. Why? VERY cold air temperatures and constant (cold) air flow.

  3. Mass retreats to the edge of the map??????

    You do this often?????

Ive never heard of such a thing. And I must say, in the dozens of games I've played against the computer I've never once had a unit run off map. It's just not an issue.

    Mass retreats eh?

Do you get whipped a lot in PBEM? :P

What about getting the latest purchaser of CM to tell us what his/her invoice number is? Of course, that would be assuming it started at 1 and is working its way up. Several months ago I purchased a copy for a friend, Number 18,000 and something. Will that work? smile.gif

No. Steve already talked about this. The numbers have no relevance to the units sold.

How many have they sold? As Steve said, sales went beyond their wildest dreams.

    That's good enough for me.

Actually, all you have to do is sign up with Freedrive (it's free) and then the files will be shared on your account. There is no password required...

Well I can't figure it out. I subscribed and don't see squat. I've got "My folder" "Automotive" (??) and "Internet" listed.

    Can't find anything else there.

    Hi,

If you open the information window for early Shermans, you'll see the phrase 'burns easily.' Any model with a W (eg M4A3(75)W as you see in Chance Encounter) has the wet storage you mentioned.

Yep. In fact I brewed up a "W" model last night in a PBEM game. So much for wet storage!

    PS - love them Hetzers!

  7. I would think a bug in the true sense of the word would be something that everyone would notice. I have played movies over and over again during recent PBEM and AI games. Never once had a problem. My guess is there's something going on with your specific machine and the game, but to label it a "bug", eh, I dunno.

True, the game is a masterpiece, but it still is expensive. When I got my copy 3 months ago, it cost me over $90 Australian.

    How much over?

$90 AUD is $50 USD. 100 AUD is $55 USD.

In the US we paid $45. Current exchange rates are what they are. Should BTS change the prices for each country?

Life isn't fair all the time is it? You paid $10 USD more than I did for the same game. Is that really so horrendous?

even if I could get into West Point, I wouldn't go. I want to go through boot with the rest of the guys. If I ever want to become an officer (through OCS), I will at leat respect and earn the respect of the enlisted men under me.

So West pointers don't have the respect of their men. Well... I don't buy it. In fact there's this guy who graduated from there, pretty good armor guy too. Read this speach.

I understand your reasoning, but I have found so far in QB (and one PBEM) that I have yet to loose my King of the battlefield. The hits it's take it just shrugged off. I use it wisely and don't send it into anywhere it can be ambushed by infantry.

Choosing where to deploy it and how is important. But so far, it's made a mockery of allied armor. It may not be fast, but that 88 can reach out and touch things a long way out. And when it hits, it almost always kills. Many tanks just back up and hide.

Anyway, for me it's been a winner.
