but just imagine...
if 1C made the renderer in TOW use the same contrast values as Flintlock's screenshots...
plus AA and FSAA settings..
shouldn't be hard, even FarCry has different rendering settings you can choose from in the games video options
The contrast in Flinlock's screenshots gives it a HDR lighting look
-
game doesn't turn on Anti-aliasing and Ansio filtering - so you have to do it manually in the video card properties panel

^ now that's my new fav!!!
thanks for the compliment as well, yeah it's a talent I was born with

my fav so far - it has a nice vibe to itOriginally posted by flintlock:plus the unsharp mask and contrast boost you added gives it a HDR look

Wouldn't be hard to mod the demo, missions are XML files
I might try not putting my infantry I trenches, kinda too obvious....for arty strikes...

Just press trhe escape key to bring up the menu and options etc

Ha! I usually remap WASD keys to the arrows in other gamesOriginally posted by jiggles:I think the camera system is great ... though maybe it needs some fiddling.
I've remapped the camera left/right/forward/back to the standard WASD keys used in FPSs. By default they're mapped to the arrow keys which seems like a strange choice to me.

P4 2.8c o/c to 3.1g, 1 gig ram, Gainward 7800GS+ (7900GT in AGp)
1152x864
tutes run ok - 20 fps average
but gets down to 7-15 in the main mission..
I turned EAX off in the sound panel, my soundcard doesn't have have EAX accleration and that picked things up in the tutes, up to 25-30fps
have to test the main mission now

Ausgamer worked fine for me - 500+k a sec
only use one download thread though, because they shut down people who try and leech with more than one..

First time that I am posting on this forum. I just tried the demo last night. I was struggling with the camera and trying to find out how everything worked,

oh wait....

one more
now that's some grunty tank sound
more loudness needed
-
more rumble
-
this is how loud the tanks in TOW should be!
that deep rumble is missing and overall not loud enough
although these vehicles don't sound like that, but the camera mic might not be so crash hot

I like all the pops and clacks. The Hetzer main gun in action as well

I actually noticed you can hear the distant Arty guns fire before the shells then land a short time afterwards - a neat touch
plus nice ambience on the explosions, reminds me of the great explosion soundFX in COH
-
Mg42 could also be made louder, it sounds much quieter than the other weapon sounds
especially when the camera was locked onto the halftrack, way too quiet!
If you made the outside vehicle sound the same loudness as the locked on vehicle cam sound, and then made the locked on cam vehicle sound a bit louder still then that looks to be about right
-
sounds good
but I think the vehicle engines/sounds could be a bit louder relatively speaking.
Vehicle roar and exhausts are quite a bit louder and deeper in real life!

There are many programs out there that gives that "lobby" support for games like this. One of them being "Hyperlobby". Although it's more of a flight sim lobby, maybe we can persuade the devs if there's more people like us. Check http://hyperfighter.sk for more info about this
It already supports IL2...HyperLobby (or just HL) is an online gaming lobby primarily designed to support online flight simulation and other online games. The client is written in Visual Basic 5.0 and the server part is in C, designed for the Linux environment. The server side of HL is not and will not be avialable for download. HL is a chat that is enhanced by game launch and other features. For communication, HL needs connection into the Internet by TCP port 1698, and for latency calculation betwen clients uses an ICMP echo reply protocol. I started the HL project in summer 2000 as an experiment to create an alternative place to fly Jane's WW2 Fighters. Due to its popularity, HL was enhanced to support more games ...[ April 06, 2007, 10:56 PM: Message edited by: CoolColJ ]
