  1. Hey after looking at the quiktime movies abit more, I figure why they look so robotic, when they swing their arms, they swing it same directrion as the leg on that side! Humans don't walk like that! smile.gif The arm should swing the opposite way on each side to the leg smile.gif I hope this will be fixed smile.gif

  2. Well seeing as a lot of people own CC3 here - Close Combat 3 is quite a decent game when patched with Realred v805, it adds new units, removes ones like Js3, modifies all weapon kill probs to be more realistic, infantry survivablity (believe me you'll be scared to take that tiger back into town by itself again! smile.gif) and unit spotting (infantry much harder to spot under heavy cover) and rare units are actually rare.

    Visit this site for Realtred

In fact some people behind Realred have full patches for similating France 1940, D-day and beyond, Casino with new maps , toally different units, sound files etc! smile.gif

These are the sort of people you need on your side! smile.gif

Their seem to be 2 types of CC3 gamers on MSN those that play the original, and the hardcore Grognads like me that play REalred v805 (with its own ladder)

Hopefully CM will attract these people onboard as well wink.gif

  3. I feel with solo play on the computer, maybe it would better to have the game engine running continously, and then being able to pause the game any time to update orders etc. While PBem would be as you had planned. tHis continously running game system was something I really enjoyed on games by SSG on my amiga/c-64 like Operation Crusade and its D-day brother. It allows a freely flowing game when not much is happening, and uses the lower level AI more. You just tell a unit to go there, and leave it up to the subordinates to figure how to do it as in real life smile.gif

Also a computer vs computer mode would be nice as well, as I tend to enjoy watching battles unfold as much as I do playing them! And with 3d reproduction, the enjoyment will triple!

Earlier I commented on you animations etc, I think darker shadows on every object will help in this regard. Are you familiar with a game called Gran Turismo on the Playstation. This game did to driving games what I hope your game will do to Computer Wargames; it feature the most realistic physics, and replay mode ever made - one key feature of this was the uncanny ability to create a believably image of cars zooming around the track by the smart use of dark shadows that elimated that floating on the road look.

    My 5 cents

  4. hi:0

After having a look at the quicktime movies, the tanks look impressive, but the soldiers look a bit wooden smile.gif, I hope this will be improved by the final version, perhaps a bit of motion capture would help, since they seem to float and glide above the ground, rather than running on it wink.gif

  5. as an owner of a RealRed patched Close Combat 3, I thought this was only thing that conjured the feel of Saving Private. Plus I just bought West Front, and thought something was wrong, here was a game that still used systems that existed on my old C-64 and AMiga! What had happened to wargame developement on computers, with all the cpu power and graphics we have now, I asked myself. And then I stumbled upon a preview of your game after an email with I received from someone on Talonsofts discussion board (where I told them they needed to do something to West Front in frustration) - YES my dream have come true!!! Arghhh now I have to wait frown.gif
