Yes, this is definitely a problem in my opinion as well. I've upgraded to 1.01 and noticed this the other day while playing one of the scenarios in the Stalingrad Pack: Into the Void. I ordered my PZ II's into the gully in the middle of the map, and on their way there they began to take fire from a light gun located in the small village on the right side. I ordered them to hull down in the gully using the location of the light gun icon so they could attempt to shell it with a minimum of exposure. Although they had LOS to the light gun, and were being repeatedly shelled (and knocked out) by the light gun, I observed one of the MK II's put 4 consecutive shells into the top of the gully right in front of him while attempting to shoot at the gun. He was then knocked out. Others were knocked out after less shots, but also suffered from this same phenomenon. Please fix or do somefink! ianc

Hi Gordon, A question or two if I may (I couldn't find anything written on these topics at the site): I'm currently running V4.00. What updates have been made in V4.01 that would be compelling? Is it worth the upgrade? What's the upgrade procedure from 4.00 to 4.01? can I just install over my 4.00 installation without difficulty? Thanks for any help, ianc

Agreed Sniper. If you're looking for other people to spend their time trying to help you out, the least you can do is attempt to frame your request in some semblance of English that can be easily understood. Another 30 sec's writing your original request and you'd probably have had your mod by now, eh? ianc

Peng, I Challenge you to a breathalyzer test

Check the bottoms of your shoes twinkletoes! Is it OK to just insult people and not challenge them? Who cares? ianc -
Peng, I Challenge you to a breathalyzer test

Consider this the equivalent of someone rushing into the room, pulling down his pants, waving his unmentionables about, then beating a hasty retreat. Lovingly, ianc -
Stugs with pink bits (Under wheels)
ianc replied to x13th's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Pink bits on a particular vehicle have to do with the .bmps for just that particular vehicle. So, whether you see them or not is entirely dependant on how skillful the modmaker in question is. ianc -
A Fascinating article....Ost Front.

Hysterical, or historical? You make the call... ianc -
Can't say I saw the popups (dammit), but it seems to me that you have somehow achieved a significant bandwidth bump in your site. Before your site was great, but kind of slow. I just downloaded Mr. Noobies MkIV F2 at around 40 KB/s however. Did you contract for more bandwidth somehow, or is it just due to the fact that I'm downloading at 13:25 PST? Regardless, you rock! ianc

Keeping the speed down seems to work best for me. For the larger vehicles, don't use fast move on anything but roads, and don't move off road if you can help it... If you've just gotta get there and there's no road, plan to leave a few of the boys by the wayside... ianc

CMMOS Conversion Step-by-Step: Part 2, The Info.txt File
ianc replied to Old Dog's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Old Dog: very good stuff thus far and you're doing a good job of making it look easy. As regards your above quote, why not include the doc in the next ver of CMMOS (along with the other more detailed readme) as a quik-guide for getting mods up with a minimum of hassle? ianc -
Ha Murpes! Gorgeously parlayed bit of techno-sarcasm there fella! ianc

Possible problem with KV 85 CMMOS
ianc replied to Rob Murray's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Nope, I downloaded it and the size of it listed on my HD is 2.74 MB. That site gets pretty damn busy sometimes and dl's can slow to a crawl in my experience... Maybe try again? Good luck! ianc -
Possible problem with KV 85 CMMOS
ianc replied to Rob Murray's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Why would that mean there's a problem with the file? Your connection probably just crapped out midway. Are you on dialup? I got the file earlier today without difficulty... ianc -
Thanks very much Wadepm! I think actually that the deletion or renaming of 00005004.wav and 00005007.wav will save a lot of people from going mental... ianc

Any Last Requests For The Soundmod Addon?
ianc replied to Oddball_E8's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
yes, I have a request: I started another thread about this, but now I see your post... Do you know the # of the birdsong .wav's so I can give them the boot? Thanks for any info... ianc -
I believe I do recall that somebody called OddballE8 or some such was working on an ambient sound mod, but I haven't seen any announcement about it's being ready... So err... No one knows the # of the .wav's?

Hello folks, Does anyone know the numbers of the birdsong .wav's so I can excoriate them from my system? They are really driving me mental... Thanks for any help, ianc

Question about 1.01 patch and CMMOS 4.0
ianc replied to Le Tondu's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Hi Le Tondu, I don't know this for certain, but I'd say things are OK. I believe the patch just supplies certain textures which were not shipped with the original game, so they wouldn't be modded yet anyway. ianc -
Rule-Set's Won't Unzip CMMOS Ver 4?
ianc replied to Lane's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Lane, You should be able to add the ruleset as a .zip file I believe. Just open CMMOS, choose CMBB in the lower right corner, then choose configure, then select the ruleset tab, then choose add, and point to your ruleset file. Should work... ianc -
Thanks for the fast response Gordon. You and CMMOS rule! Take care, ianc

Hi Gordon, Sure, I understand perfectly. However, my question is this: I've installed the winterfahrzeug set already. This will install a whitewashed 38(t), among many others. If I prefer Panzermartin's winterized 38(t) over that of the default winterfahrzeug one, what are the ramifications of me just manually installing it over the top of the winterfahrzeug one, thereby replacing just that one texture? Is this a bad thing to do generally? Can you foresee troubles arising in future install\uninstalls if I do this? Thanks again, ianc

Hello Folks (and hopefully Gordon), I've also recently become a CMMOS convert and it is extremely convenient. One of the greatest things about it is the easy manipulation of the options that a designer wants to include. Now that I've given the mandatory kudos (and they ARE due, believe me), I have a question (of course), which I hope some kind soul might be able to enlighten me on, as well as an observation: I've already downloaded some great non-CMMOS winter mods by Panzermartin (among others) and would really like to continue using them, although I have already installed the winterfahrzeug ruleset and mods. How can I do this? What will the ramifications be of just manually installing a couple of non-CMMOS compliant mods over the winterfahrzeug set? Will this completely discombublate CMMOS if I should later decide to uninstall winterfahrzeug? Is there a recommended procedure for doing this, or is it not recommended at all? How can I integrate non-CMMOS mods into the CMMOS environment, apart from waiting for the author to make them CMMOS compliant? For the observation: I downloaded Mr.Noobie's CMMOS-compliant T34 mods to the \temp subdirectory of my CMMOS installation, then fired up CMMOS to install them. I clicked the 'Configure' button, but as soon as the 'Add' button is clicked from within the configuration window, the entire contents of the \temp subdirectory (save \temp\rule) are wiped. Not in the recycle bin, nowhere to be found. Had to redownload 'em. A bit disconcerting, and perhaps not intended behaviour. Just thought you might like to know of it Gordon. At any rate, there's the question. Thanks for such a great program, and take care, ianc
