  1. Life in the (muddy) trenches. This was posted 2 weeks ago. Finally a guy using a periscope. Youtube sub-titles work with this one.
  2. My reading pertains mainly to the German experience in the east.
  3. I've seen a couple of clips like this in the past week, looks like conditions are still not ideal
  4. I seem to recall reading that it was regular practice (at least with experienced crews) to just stuff as many rounds as possible into the vehicle, even loose on the turret floor, during WW2. I presume that's not an option with an auto-loader and western armies haven't really fought in anything resembling WW2 since. I find it interesting to read about small details like this developing over time to meet real world demands.
  5. Not ideal conditions, unless I suppose you're a hippo
  6. Interesting (if true and correct) translated statement distributed from doomsayer Girkin. I noted this UN resolution the other day, a little surprised at some of those voting yes rather than the usual abstentions. If you read the entire tweet, there's this bit at the end. EDIT: This is a statement is not from Strelkov (he only forwarded it) but from Colonel Viktor Imantovich Alksnis, a former Duma state deputy.
  7. Perhaps they're making room in the prison system for "malcontents" that are soon to be rounded up, hastily sentenced and after a month or two in jail moved to the front to sign contracts. Rinse, repeat. Conscript mercenaries with no rights or benefits under the russian military system.
  8. Two clips that are hopefully indicative of how things are on the RU side. The GAZPROM guys look like a motley bunch. Apologies for spamming the thread, if it's too much let me know
  9. Just posting to round out the shots of the Bradleys from yesterday
  10. Wonder if this is true. I would really like to see one working under combat conditions
  11. Obviously I hope that the various indicators we've seen of the poor state of the RU army are true, I think there's still going to be some hard yards in the months to come.
  12. Another view, smoking in the cockpit again Yuri?
  13. Example of some poor conditions. Translation says Kremenskoe, doesn't say when, probably in the past week I suppose.
  14. Just in time for the discussion over the past page or so, today's ISW post goes into detail on what RU units are committed in Ukraine, where they are located and the what shape they're in. TLDR is they're not in great shape after months of relatively fruitless local actions and are going to have a hard time defending against a large mechanized offensive. https://www.understandingwar.org/backgrounder/russian-offensive-campaign-assessment-april-23-2023
  15. Looking at the visible damage, did the barrel collide with another vehicle?
  16. Unfortunate but understandable I suppose
  17. Did we talk about this? Another interesting insight into information peddling. I've seen this person's name a number of times on twitter and read a few of their posts whilst having a look over the fence. The twitter profile claimed she was a Donbass native - if the reports now coming to light are correct, she's a ex-Navy NCO and was one of the internetizens publishing the photo-shopped UKR casualty figures that eventually made it on to Fox News via Carlson.
  18. Noticeable uptick in POW clips on Necro Mancers twitter feed over the past few days https://twitter.com/666_mancer Another clip of UKR troops, guessing it's from the same or similar event as above
  19. Another interesting thread. Wager force generation techniques getting even more draconian
  20. More analysis suggesting heavy losses amongst some of RU's best troops.
  21. Check-mate (note is visegrad so pass the salt)
