  1. Just read an article in the press, Atomic are rewriting the AI from scratch as well as introducing totally new animations etc. Who knows, gang, it may just be worth a look? Personally, I take the view as expressed above that a lot of FUN can be had in CC if you take it with its limitations. End of lesson.
  2. Pip!Pip! HUSSARRRRR!!!!!! 'Live long and prosper!' * *(quote used with kind permission of Paramount Studios)
  3. Hey, Private R, don't slag WW2ONLINE just yet mate. Admittedly, it probably won't be as good as CM but it still might be fairly pucker! Best wishes all.
  4. The relative calm of the bunker was shattered by the sharp, unmistakeable report of a Luger....
  5. A number of factors: genre, REVIEWS, then demo, if all are good/ ok etc then I'll part with my hard earned dosh!!! But the demo I think plays the biggest part here
  6. Thank you all for your comments, they have given me the (partly, but most welcome)qualified opinion I was after, butI would also welcome further comments, as this would assist me further. Any further comments would be most welcome
  7. I realise that this is slightly off track, but it is WW2 after all. I have read several reviews of Panzer Elite recently, mostly mediocre, would anyoue who has played it be good enough to give me an indication if it is worth parting with my hard- earned dosh for?
  8. SWAT3 Unreal Tournament CC3 on the zone H&D Half-Life Redemption Mod BRING ON THE GOLD! Best wishes
  9. SWAT3 -Excellent Unreal Tournament H&D- STILL GOING! CC3 on the Zone- SORRY Ican't wait for the GOLD Demo though!
  10. SWAT3 Close Quarter Battle- excellent Unreal Tournament H&D-still brilliant fun Half-Life 'Redemption' Mod Oh, and CC3 on the zone (so what, I like it) Can't wait 'til the Gold Demo though!
  11. SWAT3 Close Quarter Battle- excellent Unreal Tournament H&D-still brilliant fun Half-Life 'Redemption' Mod Oh, and CC3 on the zone (so what, I like it) Can't wait 'til the Gold Demo though!
  12. I have a German user name- just to confuse everyone , but I am a Brit and proud of it! At present I prefer to play as the Germans because, as mentioned before, they tend to have the best kit. But when the pucker game gets here, who knows? (But it will probably be the good old khaki-clad blokes)
  13. Here is an interesting incident for you involving a PIAT in action, ( I'm sorry if you are already initiated). Fusilier Francis Jefferson was awarded the Victoria Cross in May 1944 on the Gustav Line at Monte Cassino, Italy. His battalion had just dug hasty defensive positions prior to a German counter-attack. During the opening phase, Fusilier Jefferson dashed forward into open ground while under enemy machine gun fire and firing from the hip (!) successfully engaged a MK 4 Panzer at close range, destroying it. He then went on to reload in cover and moved forward again to engage a second tank, which subsequently withdrew. The men of his company felt he should have recieved the award for the method of fire alone!! Best wishes to you all and HAPPY (hic!) NEW YEAR!!!!
  14. 'Ice cold in Alex'- an absolute classic Johnny Mills at his best. I watch it at least every other week! '....the desert is the true enemy....'. Antony Quayle, outstanding. Cross of iron, excellent. '....your loyalty now is to us-the platoon..' The hill. Slightly off the beaten track, but the setting is WW2-Sean Connery, top dog.
  15. We are all mates on this forum, (I think!) But one thing caused me to wake in the middle of last night in a cold sweat; the forthcoming British voice wavs. Please, BTS,please, don't give us quasi- Dick Van Dyke 'cockney' rip offs, or Basil Rathbone ' English Gent' types! As a cousin from 'across the pond', that would be as unbearably unrealistic as a MP44 successfully destroying a squadron of Fireflies! Please leave the generic stereotypical English accents to Hollywood. I know you will understand my anxieties and I trust I am flapping needlessly? Best wishes.
  16. The troops in question were regular, so you can understand my point, but, I expect the final game to have addressed this issue? Keep up the great work BTS!
  17. I have encountered this too on a number of occasions. Not only do ambushing troops seem to lack battle discipline by springing an ambush early, but also take it upon themselves to engage different targets entirely, compromising their positions often resulting in tragedy. I have put this down to the demo's early build though.
  18. I think (for what it's worth)that this is a genuinely interesting suggestion. I know that it has been discussed before in this forum, but a real-time version of CM would be great! Despite its MANY flaws, CC has the undeniable appeal that a RT brings. Click-fest? Maybe, but constant decision making under pressure is the way ahead, incorporate the superior realism of CM and you are on to a world beater.
  19. I realise that this may have already been covered, so forgive my possible ignorance! I am interested in the type of scenarios we can look forward to. For example, will we see tank- heavy Ops, such as OPERATION GOODWOOD, or the action at Villers Bocage? Best wishes and keep up the good work!
  20. Will the smoke screens eventually lift in the final version, after, say, 5 minutes or so? At present they remain for the duration of the scenario-handy, yes, but not too realistic.
