  1. TnT2 Ultra w 32MB or (second machine) 2xVoodoo2 12MB in SLI mode... Makes you sick huh? And I am one of those sick geeks saving up my 600bucks for a quad processor Voodoo 5 board with 128MB of VRAM! Will that be enough for CM2??? =) ------------------ Chris Pick chris@chris-and-donna.com
  2. Fionn, Damn you have the worlds best library! =) Ok, I am duely chastened! I will have to content myself with four-wheeling to the FO site and kicking him out the passenger side.. "Now, get them shells moving!" =) Cheers, Chris Ps. And yet another good call by Charles and Steve! =) ------------------ Chris Pick chris@chris-and-donna.com
  3. Fionn, But he could peering over the side?? If infantry could fight from them (which they could?) then surely they could observe? I wanted to taxi my observers around too... FO's used Jeeps too... I suppose they can't spot from them either? Disappointed Chris ------------------ Chris Pick chris@chris-and-donna.com

  5. Herndon, VA. I have been on this side of the pond for about 5 years now, though I originate from Old Blighty... =) ------------------ Chris Pick chris@chris-and-donna.com
  6. Fionn, Thankfully not that long! We should see a 1 ghz processor from intel by the middle of next year, or sooner, and a 128MB graphics card is available now, just not very usefull! =) I am really looking forward to CM2! Chris ------------------ Chris Pick chris@chris-and-donna.com
  7. Guachi, Hmm... let's not give Charles and Steve "the pockets" anymore ideas! =) Chris ------------------ Chris Pick chris@chris-and-donna.com
  8. Steve, And it's not the 100K up front that helps... It's the 15% per year maintenance that they pay... =) I just love commercial software development... =) Chris ------------------ Chris Pick chris@chris-and-donna.com
  9. Jim, At the risk of permanent banishment from the forum, I once again invoke the spectre of ASL =) The scenarios of that game list the OOB's of both sides up front, but as in CM the FOW is provided by the players varying the setup of those known forces according to a plan. The scenarios are enjoyable again and again, even against the same opponent, as you try different tactics and set-ups. So, I guess I poll as "Happy as it stands" until we have played it to death! 10. Fionn, I agree, it won't let you keep your finger on the trigger much longer, but I think it would increase the rate of cooling in between... And in your battle, with all that snow on the tanks... =) CP ------------------ Chris Pick chris@chris-and-donna.com
  11. All, Does anyone know if the mount for the MG34 was metal-to-metal? If so, the tiger would be a pretty good heat sink, and I am sure that the mounted MG would cool significantly faster than it's air-cooled bretheren... 12. All, I am at least half-way toward agreement with Mike D, though I have yet to see a clear statement of how campaigns will work in the Beta, so I reserve the right to completely change my mind... =) To be heretical for a moment, one of the great joys of playing a Historical ASL game (HASL) verses a regular scenario, is the ability to choose forces via a purchase mechanism, from a limited pool of historical units. i.e. there may be X platoons of engineers in the pool for the whole campaign, and if I want to assault a village during this battle, I may buy a couple with some of my limited points. Air power, and artillery missions are also limited to purchases from the pool. The fun part of this is the flexability (within historical/situational limits) to "customise" your force to match your plan. It greatly adds to the replay value of any campaign game, as while the map and objectives are the same, you only have a general idea of what the enemies forces may be, and you may change your own to try out different strategies (without resorting to an editor, "hmm... If I just give myself two more Jagdpanthers over here..." =) What does everyone think? And BTS guys, how does the pre-/inter-battle unit purchase work now? Cheers, Chris ------------------ Chris Pick chris@chris-and-donna.com
  13. KwazyDog, I am sure that the "UberCampaign" supporters could use your programming skills... That would be a sweet addition! ------------------ Chris Pick chris@chris-and-donna.com
