  1. I had a chance to blast a few of these new guys and it is great that there is some new interest. I am a very critical wargamer and I love Drop Team, there has to be lots more who would love this tactical scifi wargame.
  2. Very cool. I played last night and 4 or so new guys showed up too. Game play was very smooth. I didnt get a chance to play infantry though, so I dont know if the spotting issues have been solved. Great game last night though.

  6. I think the bot spotting problem, especially against Infantry has been solved as well.

  8. And the bots can be very accurate with HEAT. They can nail dropships at distance with HEAT, which is almost impossible to do.
  9. I think the turrets are able to spot infantry at distance just like bot vehicles, especially Hermes and Bacchus Paladins. Hopefully this will be fixed!
  10. In my opinion, this should be an additional feature of the engineer squad. Just give one of them the demo charges vice ATGs.
  11. Great games today! Any my team actually beat Jung a couple of times. Nothing like a little luck.

  13. USMC LAVs have held up to IEDs surprizingly well too, even though they dont have the slat cages. I have seen many LAVs that look destroyed, but the damage is really just the wheels all tore up. In most cases, the Marines inside were all OK, if rattled and suffering minor injuries. VBIEDs tend to be a little worse, since they explode right next to vehicle and not below it. But better armor also means that the enemy will build bigger bombs. Awhile ago, 2/25 had a Amtrack that ran over an IED made of stacked AT mines. Shredded the vehicle and killed 25 I think. I remember one IED attack in Ramadi against a M113 that 1st Bde, 1st Inf Div had that was completely destroyed. All the soldiers were KIA and the biggest piece recovered was the ramp. Its amazing that so much ordnance is still available in Iraq.

  15. Well, only Jung and I showed up this Sunday. Jung kicked my ass twice in a row. In my defense, I joined the first game late and the second one I had to deal with blowing up a raft for the kids in the pool. Where is a cone of silence when you need one to isolate you from the world? Geez, doesn't everyone know that this is serious competition here? At one point I was unable to tell my bots what to drop or where, so they happily killed themselves dropping all the cutters. I think that is a bug that has to be fixed, along with the spotting of infantry. Playing infantry is very very frustrating now and it is my favorite. Hopefully when the summer is over, the gang will come back for some bigger battles.
  16. Its all good Poesel, thanks. I would'nt mind some new maps, just to change it up. No particular list though. Hopefully the next release will tune down the bots spotting and accuracy, especially against infantry. Would it be very hard to apply the camo pattern to the gear/weapons of the ATGM and Sniper teams, to get rid of the white target indicatiors?

  18. I have been having a problem with CZ6. Everytime a game ends, DT crashes. The error reports that I have looked at says the problem is this: 1) Code: 0xc0000005 Address: 0x0000000095d1d4f 2) Code: 0x0000005 Address: 0x00000000049067d0 I don't know if those values are of any use or not. I am playtesting for CMSF and they need those for crashes. I don't have this problem with the base 1.2.6 version.
  19. I still dont like the whole grappler concept. How would it be possible for a viper to hook a 70+ton tank on the fly and simply yank it off the ground? Any physics majors out there care to comment?

  21. Awesome. Maybe some corridors can be cut through parts to make roads for vehicles. This looks like a great infantry map!
  22. OK, I can buy that. But wouldn't you first see the flash and then hear the noise later? Like lightening and thunder?
  23. For some reason I am experiencing more lag on CZ5 with v1.2.6. Is this just me?
