If no one else suggests, and there is enough interest I can look into a broadcast of the game preview here. You have 6 hours ahead of us I believe, so you won't have to be up all night, unless you prefer talking to your southern brethren.

Just wanted to point out that people will be drinking beer, eating food, and best of all, playing CMBN at my house LONG before you swine see the game. There IS justice in the world.
Past illuminaries that have gone to a rune preview include: The Gnome, Berli, Patch, NG Cavscout, lawyer, and more...

I will have beer for those attending, but if you want something special, get your own. A little birdie is hinting at 12 Feb, but must clear it will the Home General. She is an RN and knows how to use needles, I will not cross her.

Again, don't read anything into the dates, it is when I have time. For the record, I hosted cmbo, cmbb, cmak, and cmsf previews.
So I have a count of three and maybe a fourth. Will wait a week before confirming things.

All,
Per tradition, I get to have the first preview of any new games that BFC makes [i passed on modules]. I want to gage interest in having a preview, as it will determine the place, and maybe equipment I will need.
First the priminaries...
1. It will take place either at my house, or somewhere nearby. This means Northside Chicago. I don't care how much anyone whines, it is where I am located.. there WILL be other previews after mine.
2. It is a preview, some things are still being worked on. If i tell you dont mention that feature, then I will expect you not to say anything live or on the forums. If you can't abide by this, then don't come. In the past people have seen some of the surprises, and were good enough to keep it a surprise for everyone.
3. If there is a lot of interest, then I may have the preview at a wargame store nearby, or a restaurant like we did one year.
I don't have an exact date yet, am seeing how much interest there is first. Am thinking mid-February to mid-march [have to be done before soccer season starts, as I have a full schedule of games to referee]
So, if you are interested, post here so I get a count. Remember, there will be others elsewhere, but this one is for Chicago.

Amazingly, several sources have them moving out on the 20th of June, but that didn't see right to me. You'd think they would have all this ready knowing that 66 years later, we would need to know these things.

According to multiple sources...
After rest and refitting it flew U-boat escort, and then flew missions in the early days of the invasion of Normandy. It had FW 190 A-6s and A-7/R6s on strength, equipped with a single bomb rack under the fuselage.
SO may have been deployed, but again very few if any missions with the f8.

Ummm the FW-190 f8 should NOT be modelled, since the airframe production didn't start till April 1944, and there wasn't any stationed in France with JG 26. I can post the combat reports showing all their FW-190 losses were the A variant if you would like.

From Zaloga's book on the IS tanks:
Page 41: "The A19 122mm gun had been specially modified [Late 1944:rune] for use on the IS2 tank with a semi-automatic drop breech. This variant of the gun, designated D-25T increased the rate of fire from about 2 rounds per minute to 3-4 rounds per minute"
Also noted on page 39 a problem with the Egyptian IS2s and the "low rate of fire and rudimentary fire control system".
It seems the first version of the breech were a screw type breech which may of contributed to the low rate of fire.
I will tend to believe Zaloga on this. Will see what the other book has to say on it, but to me it is case closed.

The sources I found state the same thing, they didn't go with th 100mm because of the lack of tubes. Zaloga and Mikhail Baryatinskiy each have a book out on the IS2 and I am waiting to get them. From what I found, they also state the lower rate of fire, but will wait to get my hands on the books for proof.
