Ferpa,
Not argueing, matter of fact I asked for something simular years ago when cmsf was in beta. However, you asked why would you use different ai plans, which I hope i showed. Play ash shammas, you hopefully will get a different ai plan when you play. Some have different defenses, and one has the enemy advancing to counter attack, which may or may not work depending on how far the Blue player had gotten. However, I will say this, given the choice between trigger points and different victory conditions, I'll go for the trigger points.

To answer your question, because a little change can change the way the battle plays. I may use the same forces, but ai plan 1 i have the enemy defend the first line of defense till xx time then withdraw to line 2, where reinforcements arrive.
plan II i have them withdraw immediately, and with the same forces try to sucker the enemy into a trap, but with the same forces as plan I
plan III I set ambushes, then withdraw, then ambush, the withdraw, etc. Again, same forces different tactic.
Well worth multiple ai plans, even if the same victory conditions. Replay a scenario and it could change each time [well, up to 5 anyway]

May I be the first to wish you all a Happy battle of New Orleans Day. Here is to Joebob playing the part of the alligator in the song...
Tell us Emrys, how was it hiding behind the bales of cotton?
Seanachai, sing us the song... rather hear you slur then Joebob sing again..

None of this relevant (or, in the case of the SSN who continues to wander in, understandable).
Finland is, by definition, a GOOBERNATION. Vying for top honors in that category is like trying to prove that you didn't date the ugliest girl in school.
Joe
I was wondering what made Joebob such an expert on goobernations, when it occurred to me, he IS the resident expert. After all, he comes from Utah, the most goober of any state of these United States. Hell, even Ohio laughs at Utah. And Ohio is the armpit of the US. His expertise on ugly girls comes with experience with Morman Wives. Joe's goober status knows no bounds. I have seen him fly with the Cess Patrol, and trust me, he makes gooney birds look like F-15 jockeys.
The only possible thing that could be worse, would be if he was from Texas....oh wait....

Hmmm, with enough advance notice we could conceivably arrange to meet Stuka in Denver ... OGSF, Berli and of course your Beloved Justicar for Life of the Peng Challenge Thread.
Think what that would mean lads.
Joe
That there is a mormon wife convention going on?
That 2012 can't come fast enough?
That farmers should hide their sheep?
That Berli will dish out a lot of Mondays to you?
That the IQ of Colorado will drop significantly?
That toga sales will finally pick up?
That Colorado may actually run out of alcohol?
Someone else can take over answering Joebob.

Boo, you Joebob understudy,
Must we go through this everytime your Alzheimer's kicks in? Costard has been claimed by House Rune. Now you are going to ask since when did I have a house, and I reply from the first mother-beautiful thread. Please take your meds, you are starting to make Emrys look at he is conherent compared to you.
Costard, me lad, Your next *boot* attempt at becoming a squire *boot*, I want you to translate OGSF's messages into regular american. The young one has moved to the United States, let his start *boot* speaking so someone can understand him.
Oh, and give Boo his meds right away *Boot*

That battle is one of ym favorites that I made for CMSF, glad to see others enjoying it, even modified. A little background, that map was made from an actual situation during the Iraq invasion. The situation was starting to occur, but the iraqi attack didn't make it that far. One of the beta testers was in command of the defense, and obviously, wasn't a stryker company. I had a lot of fun making it, and testing it, and the other beta testers enjoyed it.
Feel free to release your version with the Brits, all I ask if you keep my name in the briefing as a designer as well as your own, and name it some like Guard the Far Flank - Brits.
Keep up the youtube videos, enjoyed watching it!

Steve said, "Suburb" instead of "Superb," which was what he meant to say, hence Sergei's "cityation" instead of "citation."
Sorry if I spoiled your fun, Sergei.
Yes, yes, I got it the first time before anyone said anything, but my point still stands, for Sergei to post that, there either:
A. Was alcohol involved [The cheap Russian Vodka kind]
B. Was eating the canned fish from Sweden
C. For a moment, went back to his ewok roots. [Finns are so cute when destroying tanks with logs, or pinecones]
What next, Andreas comes back and tells a joke?

Read the post (and the quoted part) again. Even you should ghettid, it's no Hamlet.
I'll stick with the alcohol was involved. Humor changes when downing that Russian cheap vodka, doesn't it? That or you went for the canned fish from Sweden.

Many people look town on Shermans, but it all depends on cityation.
Sergei,
Is this some sort of Ewok\Finnish code for something? Personally I will blame alcohol for that sentence untill told otherwise.

Thank all for the kind words, I did the Breakthrough at the Berm and Ash Shammas [airport] mission. I also did baker 1-1, which a lot of people liked.
If you like those, try my guarding the far flank, which I still enjoy playing a night mission.
Some day I will release a scenario based on the Iran-Iraq war, and my Marine and British scenarios.
Thanks again for the kind words.

Try the Oct 29th beta drivers, I just played guarding the far flank and didn't have the flashing problem running with a 8800gtx and windows 7.

Also try running as administrator if you aren't.

Yankee Dog is correct. My beloved Tomcat was officially retired in September 2006. The odds of being called back to service is zero, since the majority of the aircraft were shredded to prevent parts getting to Iran.

He almost broke the military rule [was an actual rule when I was still flying in the Navy] that the takeoff roll was not to exceed the length of the runway.

I quote from a source:
"The French made MILAN ATGM, a 1970s design, has a 35 pound launch unit, firing a 16 pound, wire guided missile, with a maximum range of 2,000 meters. The Syrians got MILAN from France, and passed them on to Hezbollah"

Hard to referee soccer without the surgery, so I got it done. I got to referee DePaul vs Wisconsin before the injury, so the season was not a total loss, like you playing Boo.

Surgery went fine, I am in a large boot for the next month at the quickest, more likely 2 months. Crutches for next 4 weeks minimum. seanachai, hook youself up to the wagon [there is a sentence I thought I would never read] and be my sled dog. No worries, I won't spare the whip.
Rune
Bah! Tylenol with codine doesn't do a thing....

Slackers,
I have to come out from injury and resting to move this up from page 2. Doctor's tomorrow to see if surgery needed on right torn Achilles tendon. Damn poison arrows, can't trust anyone.

Patch,
The Gnome must mean the famous Ferguson Jenkins. I didn't know gnomes enjoyed baseball, being baseball size and all. After all, who here hasn't wanted to take a bat to our long winded, bourbo drinking, towel stealing, canoe paddling short one?

Glad you like the scenario. It took me a while to do all the research on the battle. The time is obviously compressed, as there was indeed much fighting over several days and nights.
An extremely rare but excellent read is "The Sidi Rezeg Battles 1941" by Agar-Hamilton and Turner. I also had help from people like Jon S, the South African Military museum, and others. See the end of the briefing for all the acknowledgements.
Nice to see people enjoying my creatons years after they were made. Thank you very much for the kind words.

But Joebob, i was flying in the finest tradition of the Cess Patrol. Well, other then I could take off and land mind you. Oh, and actually hit something I was firing at. Oh, and not watching Mace explode into millions of pieces. Oh, and not being yelled at by Madmatt [bolded due to the fact he is a large bald guy working for Battlefront].
Rune

Actually Boo me boy, depends on how many messages per page you have selected. Since I have a real computer, not the ti80 you are running on, I can see more and hence it is on page 2. Now I know this most likly confuses you, so just go back and curl at Joebob's feet, and don't worry about it.
however since stoat is from the great state of Illinois [Long may our govenors wave from prison], I can always drive to see him to give him a swift kick in the groin area. Not that there is anything wrong with kicking stoat.

Cabal23,
First off, that post was from 8 months ago. Second, it was discussed at the time, and if you read Steve's reply after mine, it does all impact the game. the discussion was also about unlimited time, not a set piece of time.
Show me a battle in Iraq that went 2 days with no resupply.
Last, how much have you coded in CM? Don't assume something is easy to implement.. if it was, it would have been done already.
No insult intended, but I rather see more added into CM:N then going back to work on CMSF.
