  1. Do you have a list of the smaller changes in 1.11 you can give us?

Some troops were found to have non-issue Camelbaks, these have been corrected.

All troops have been issued new uniforms because their old ones were becoming quite threadbare. They should look nicer as a result, except for Private Snowden who refuses to iron his pockets.

Load plans on all vehicles have been checked and corrected by the 1SG and XO.

The postal service was able to set up more regular delivery so the troops should be happier.

That thing on the AAV, you know, the one under the other thing, that was making that noise; well it doesn't do that anymore.

The motorpool is now using a more Earth Friendly drysweep so it has less of an impact on the local environment.

Battalion finally got around to processing those awards so the troops can wear them the next time they are in their dress uniforms.

Private Goodman has been doing some extra running so he should be a lot slimmer now.

The Family Support Group has moved its meeting to Thursday night at 7 pm.

Aircraft are now painted with the proper squadron markings.

All MREs now have the long brown spoon which corrects the occasional finding of the older short white spoon that got your hands dirty if you opened the wrong end of the main meal packet.

Unfortunately a case of Chicken-Ala-King slipped in with the newer MREs. Sorry about that.

Finally, the new rate for the GI Bill was implimented.

    :D

  2. I think it would be an excellent idea for the Army to adopt a vehicle version of the Javelin. When I was in that was what they told us they were going to do. I think they should strap the thing on every vehicle in the inventory. It shouldn't be too hard to make a vehicle version that has longer range.

Even in the best of circumstances the AT3 is a piece of crap. Units using it were lucky to get 30% hits with it.

  3. I have a mental image of Steve furiously pedaling on an exercise bike set up to power a small electric generator, whilst the ice-laden trees lay on the ground outside, enmeshed in fallen power lines. Sweating profusely, sparks flying from the ad hoc nature of his wiring, some wires dip into the jar to keep Charles powered, while the rest powers his mainframe so we can get our patch!

    Keep pedaling!

    :)

    Regards,

    Ken

Believe it or not that is exactly what is happening. Honest.

  4. Another incident from before they started paying attention to such things:

Some movie in the 50's or 60's decided to have their natives speak some African dialect. The writer, who actually spoke the language, figured that no one in the audience would know what was being said so he wrote whatever he felt like. The big dramitic moment turned into high comedy when the film was released in Africa. A native extra warned the hero of an impending attack by running up and yelling, "I'm not being paid enough for this part!"

When Coke was beginning to market in China they wanted to see if they could find some Chinese characters that looked like their trademark lable. Unfortunately the closest they could find were some characters that loosely translated to say, "Bite the wax tadpole."

  5. Libertarian or leftist narratives around these issues are so confusing, how could you "legalize" prostitution as many feminists and some others see it as a form of slavery?

Many feminists also see marriage as a form of slavery so should we outlaw that as well? Basing policy on the opinion of the various -ists is pretty stupid.

Why is it legal for two men to beat the living crap out of each other but not to pay 50 euro for sex instead of spending 100 euro on dinner and hoping for it?
