All I remember is my monitor was about 40cm thick. I had it at the back of my desk, against a wall, and I still nearly had my nose touching it. Damn near ruined my eyesight.
I think it was a Pentium - but damn, who knows?

At this point the BFC guys do not know what is meant by "weekend".
-
What? When they release it will *become* an historic day.
Man, I am hoping not as that is my wife's birthday AND Mother's Day here in the US.Can't exactly toss the wife some candy and tell her; "Have a happy honey, now I'm off to blow $hit up!", now can I?
You can if you want it to be her.

Yeah no CMBN this morning....so.... anyone else watch the wedding ? I was only watching for the military parade and flyby honest....
Didn't watch the wedding.
Wouldn't mind watching the honeymoon though - she's a fox.

Beware the counter suit. Kidnapping (as I'm sure their WAGs are saying), Metal anguish and Slavery tend to be looked down on more than fictional release dates being missed.
And who would BFC rope in as co-defendants? Microsoft, Apple, Intel, nVidea - hell every single tech company in the world.
Of course if there was an action the game would probably be held back until it was settled, around 2018. By then it might even have a competitor, so BFC would need compensating for loss of earnings. Given I've heard people say they'd pay several hundred dollars for the game, plus costs, plus "wasting my time" costs from the judge...this could be the best thing that ever happened for them.
In the meantime of course we'll be testing the bejesus out of it, you can trust us on that.

Barca - love the way they play, hate the way they play act.

I'm using Marco's mod and even without studying it, it gives a good rule of thumb feel for what you've got.

I think if you're face down you're facing the enemy, while if you're face up you're just making yourself as comfortable as possible. You don't, after all, shoot between your feet.

Is it true that crayfish can only move in reverse? That would seem to be tactically limiting, unless they were serving as a rear guard.
Michael
Naw, you use them like an Archer TD.

I was bored and started playing IL-2 1946 last week, since I recently upgraded my PC and can now run it maxed out. That was fun and then I saw MS Flight Simulator X at wal-mart for cheap and picked it up. It was much more fun than I imagined. Then I decided my 12 year old joystick (Logitech Wingman, which had seen me through dozens of various campaigns across all known gaming universes) couldn't cut it anymore, what with it's inability to turn left reliably. This all just got me worked up into a flight sim lather and...
I now have coming in the mail: Saitek x52 joystick+throttle, Falcon 4.0 Allied Force, DCS: A-10C, and the crown jewel: a Track IR 5
Thanks a lot Battlefront, due to your slowness in releasing CMBN I have dove right off the deep end into flight simulators and blown all my summer gaming funds in one fell swoop. Not that I'm complaining, soon I will be able to pilot an A-10C Warthog, or at least start the engine, maybe
How long before Track IR is replaced with a Kinnect hack? A year maybe? Now that'll be fun.

I've even heard they were produced by two different factories and had nothing to do with sequence.
Who knows?
-
Yes. Once it's out I fear I won't be posting here nearly as much as I currently do.
Yeah, cut it back to a post every other month.

I mean leader names. For example changing Doroskoviski, Boronovov, or whatever to Gibson or whatever. I have nothing against Eastern names, but I just feel more immersion w/names more familiar.
I think the strings.txt file might have what you're looking to change. Edit at your own peril of course.

Sorry, you're speaking too quietly for the human ear to hear. Which is what I am equipped with.

My keyboardth developed a lishp. I'd change it but I think ith quite thexthey.

Side-scrolling is when the page is too wide, not too long.
In your overlay.css you've got:
#sites-chrome-page-wrapper {
width: 1600px !important;
}
and
#sites-chrome-everything {
min-width: 1600px !important;
}
Take that out and replace them with a relative declarations (90% perhaps) and see how you get on.

IIRC there has been some discussion on an option for FTCR, however I think it's one of those things that can only really work with an on-screen ToE.
Steve wants one of those eventually so maybe when that's in?
-
Yeah, same here. There is no difference in difficulty between iron and elite, but elite is more convenient.
If you are in iron and want to see things clearly, just click on some empty space so you can see all your units: this is the view that you would get with elite all the time. So elite is iron plus one click.
Iron is needlessly masochistic.
[edit to add: ah yes, Ranger33, totally with you too. Didn't see your response]
Elite for exactly this reason. I just don't see the point of Iron as you get the same info, just with more work.

Cheers mate.

IIRC the soft edges tanks is actually a feature. In the first days of SF it was found to be a hindrance so some “give” was worked in. This isn’t just for the player but the AI as otherwise you end up with tanks piling up at a bottleneck and the AI, as it works on a unit level, being unable to unjam them.
The LOS map works from centre to centre of each 8x8m action spot. This is like a trigger to the engine to say “look here”. The engine then examines the units on a cm2 basis to see if LOS is possible, then applies the spotting rules to that.

Yup definitely a colonial thing
The unfortunate truth is that all the little setbacks, the times you've been shown to be wrong and the arguments that have gone over your head aren't the result of prejudice or bias against a group you happen to belong to - they're all yours and are earned by your own reasoning and behaviour.
I think you'll enjoy the boards if you stick around but holding your breath because people disagree with you isn't going to help your cause.
On that note, I'm not going to continue arguing with you because I think it's inciting you into Trolldom, which would end badly for you. Maybe give yourself a break from the forum for a week or so - I don't want to be your enemy.
-
OK so it IS a colonial thing then
Good to see Sasha Baron Cohen has moved on.
No mate, it's not a "colonial thing", it's just a calling bollocks thing.

I agree! The bean counters and other bureaucrats in the American military have often seemed an unimaginative and heartless bunch! Whether it's the ridiculous way they provide designations or things like selling the aircraft carrier CV-6 Enterprise for scrap metal!
Never mind, you've now got the Intrepid.
CMBN Manual is up
