Book Recommendation: Former SEAL Brandon Webb, The Red Circle

Recommended Posts

Not only was Brandon Webb quite the SEAL in his own right, but he went on to become the elite of the elite known as a SEAL sniper. His combat deployments started with the USS Cole attack and went from there into Iraq and Afghanistan. I believe his AO and the fact that people like LongLeftFlank have created Iraq environments makes this book CMSF relevant. Subsequently, he devised and implemented a completely new approach to training SEAL snipers, one which was really geared toward training the would-be snipers, rather than simply leaving them to figure out a lot of important things for themselves. His account of all that he went through just to become a SEAL makes exhausting reading, and all we have to do is read. This is arguably the most in-depth book on the making of a SEAL, a SEAL sniper at that, and it's quite an education.
