  1. I dont actually disagree with 1-4 for the standard game. I actually do agree, but that is why you cann mod it.
  2. 1 and 2 can be changed by modding - I did that in my version. Similar is possible with 3 and more room, as I also did. Tanks are good no doubt but you still need infantry and you have only so many you can build. I lowered the cost of armies also and adjusted some of the stats. Again, the mod can change that. The last I dont agree with, it seems very balanced to me. Again, can be edited. Try my mod but its mostly for human vs human play.
  3. That part is less concerning than the overall way naval battles work. They did not act very much like the way land units move and attack. It is also hard to duplicate how hard it is to spot naval formations in wide open seas. However, in this type of game, it would not be too easy to change the system. Perhaps some sort of system where you have regions and need to control ports or go on missions, that sort of thing, with damage occuring if there is a battle between fleets, may make more sense. I am not sure how that works with this type of system. The best I have seen, though not played, so I can't be sure, has been what they do for World in Flames.
  4. I never anticipated anyone would attack before 41 as that is actually pretty damn early. I suppose I can add a requirement of USSR activation such that if they are already fully active it won't trigger. In that case the winter wont trigger either.
  5. Don forwarded this. You do get the MPPs, what happens is you have the value of the new allies for China. Indochina is worth: 10 MPPs for the Saigon 5 to 10 MPPs for Hanoi - the rail connection increases it from 5 to 10 at 1/turn If you own Nanning that also increases 1/turn because of rail connection Burma is 10-20 for capital (again from rail) and 15-30 for the oil
  6. Hubert any idea why my new version did not go through also or is it just delayed?
  7. Belgium Falls, the Axis face off with the French line in April, 1940: Our faith in Kimura is justified as he finally occupies Wuhan. Hata destroys the Chinese 15th Army. Japanese forces begin to advance on Changchun, and we lose the 17th Infantry to a swarm of motley Chinese. They died with a last banzai charge against the Chinese hordes:
  8. Following the attack on the Netherlands, bad weather prevents further attacks and gives the Belgians some time to mobilize. In China the grind continues with little success, though the port of Wenchow has been leveled and is finally free of enemy troops, or so we think - there may be a few holdouts in the rubble. Graf Spee reports in that she is very badly damaged, looking for a neutral port to effect repairs.
  9. Early Spring, 1940 and the Blitzkrieg destroys the neutral Dutch on their bicycles. Belgium finally gears up for war, realizing neutrality just means you are telling us you are weak: In China, Anami gets sacked for his failure to take Wuhan and replaced by Kimura. Hata in the south, marching on Foochow, suddenly decides on his own to move South again. The IJA is getting beyond itself and seems to feel it can give its own orders now.
  10. Winter of 1939-1940 sees the Sitzkrieg in the west, though it looks like the French are re-equipping their Maginot units with better arms by rotating them to duty. In the East, we have reached a stalemate with heavy Chinese opposition in the south, and while we did chase off and destroy the 2nd Army Group in the north, it is likely to be re-organized from surviving cadre elements and we did not capture the numbers of prisoners we had intended:
  11. I didnt give the Polish fighters double intercept. I might, but overall this is for the weaker minor air forces which have fewer fighters and also represent some bomber capacity as well. Are you aware you can get the spreadsheet "unit stats" under the document folder and read all the stats?
  12. It is important when subs run to go to silent. First, that is how they escape, second it keeps them from striking back constantly when you hunt for them again, and limits them from being too powerful. R is fine except you want to turn it off if you want your fleet invisible - i.e. it shows up as an icon for raiding like subs, and as mentioned supply might matter too.
  13. October 27, 1939: Western Front - some unusual deployments by the French in the Maginot, but the bulk of the German Army remains in Poland but begins to redeploy West. The USSR finally finishes the job in Poland against stubborn resistance. It is clear that once we are ready, the Bolsheviks will be easy to brush aside. In the Atlantic, Graf Spee is damaged by French and British subs, but sinks several during the fight and escapes: In China, it looks like 2nd Army Group will escape our wrath due to a heroic rear-guard action by the irregulars and rain, which grounded the IJA Air Force, while the siege of Wuhan continues as the Chinese rotate in fresh troops: Further South, Hata in command of the 18th and 15th ID manage to capture the port of Wenchow:
  14. September 29, 1939 - the Axis Blitzkrieg has taken Poland by storm, but elements of the Polish Army continue to resist. It can't last and surrender will happen any day now: In the Far East, Chinese irregulars struck deep into Japanese territory and cut supply lines, but failed and were destroyed in the process. The Chinese 2nd army group with irregular support struck the Yasuoka Tank Detachment - severely under-strength and recently railed in from the debacle at Nomonhon. However, they managed to rally and re-supply, and fast elements have caught the Chinese and cut off their supplies. Our generals assure us we shall turn this sneak attack back upon the perpetrators and destroy them. Meanwhile, the siege of Wuhan proceeds apace, and we expect the city to fall soon:
  15. why is the italian unit in east africa a special forces unit? Those troops were terrible.
  16. it won't affect the mods at all mine is updated to take any changes like the intercepts into effect
  17. thanks for the praise. we will have to play sometime
  18. when you start the game you can decide on soft build limits or not - in my version they are forbidden, but I give a lot of choices.
  19. Version 1.14 - Fixed script error (Plan Z came up 2x) - Updated Chinese Industrial Centers and Rail Net. Fewer rail lines but more Industrial Centers. Also added a road from Kunming to Chungking. - Added New 4th Army to Communist Chinese production queue (disappeared after I changed Communist China's status at some point) - Fixed Malta effect script (did not work because of change in Italy and China and incorrect country code activation) - Reduced tech cost of Rockets to 75, and allowed for 2 chits maximum (since much of this tech will occur later in the war) - added pop-up to advise Japanese to take Nanning - made Indochina Cooperative, so if it is ignored the Allies can use it to bolster China. China remains unccooperative so using allied forces there will be difficult. It is also a useful place (along with Burma) for a failing China to escape with some units that will remain Free Chinese. - adjusted activation script so that Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania will all get 5-15% Axis move if Yugoslavia is pro-allied to any degree (not just 50%). Hint: Wait to attack Yugoslavia until the coup takes place. 75% chance it becomes pro-allied (helps activate the Axis Allies) and 25% it moves towards the Axis, in which case with some diplmacy you can get them on your side instead of having to occupy them and worry about partisans and tie down forces. - reduced all Nations to 60 days fortification build time (so UK and China are now the same as everyone else). Only minors (if applicable) would be 90 days. - Fixed error in Shinano script (would not trigger) - added new Decision event to re-incorporate Polish Eastern Front Territories into Poland (generally a good thing to say Yes to, as it costs little and pays for itself fairly quickly). - Fixed Polish Partisans according to above, also discovered fix for one partisan event in Carpathians that otherwise never triggered - expanded multi-media files - added French Resistance decision event (creates partisan units in France) - fixed timing of the Unternehmen Weserübung pop-up event so it happens on the Axis turn - fixed Iraq coup event which was not working (due to change in Italy's country id) - Chinese Infrastructure and AA tech reduced to 50 cost - fixed Indochina surrender event so it takes place when Indochina is pro-allied (rather than active, in case the allies choose not to activate that lend-lease route) - started China with 1 fighter tech chit (to represent the fact that most of their A/C were given to them and did not need development) and 1 intelligence tech chit (since they had so much partisan/local intelligence) - added 5-15% activation to the Axis for Finland when Axis captures Leningrad - added 5-15% activation to the Axis for Romania when Axis captures Odessa - fixed duplicate Italian Armored Division (131st Centauro) should be 133rd Littorio - fixed Chinese Partisans liberate Hengyang - which did not place partisan to liberate Hengyang - fixed Pskov supply event for Barbarossa (incorrect coordinates) - added Italian partisan effects starting in 1943 with allied occupation of Sicily (Palermo) - supply event - re-arranged the French coastline to eliminate artillery exploits. Cherbourg is now only a port. - re-arranged the English coastline for the same reason. Norwich and Great Yarmouth eliminated and Ipswich added. 54th Infantry deleted. - Decision to open the Ledo Road will also provide additional Lend-Lease units = AA and ATG (likely before the road even opens) - adjusted Victory conditions to reduce Italy's role (but not eliminate it) - Mexican 201 squadron moved to production queue 7/24/44 - If the UK surrenders the Kriegsmarine may receive additional ships due to captured naval construction and facilities (1 each Uboat, DD, CA, BB - though they trigger randomly and you must hold London). - Communist Chinese Units appear if China surrenders - added CPC Geurillas to production queue for 1945 - added pop-ups explaining how to use the loops on the map, and made the colors more pronounced so they can be easily seen. - added Kroat unit for Germans in Zagreb if Yugoslavia has surrendered to the Axis (will usually appear sometime in 1942) - added Japanese surrender for Atomic Bombs (see diplomacy sheet) % chance and USA must control Okinowa (Naha) and Iwo Jima (units in each) - in 1944 1st Bulgarian Army, 1st & 4th Romanian Armies may join Soviets if these nations have surrendered - in 1944 1st Polish Army may form in Lvov - Christchurch fixed and added as a supply center correctly
  20. that's always a danger if you expend your navy too early or send too much off to fight on other fronts...
