  1. If they are, it's certainly not in multiplayer. The server's been down for months now. Why won't Clay answer my ******* emails already??????
  2. You could, but given the lack of players, it's likely not worth the euros to run it. But DP going down could mean something: the arrival of DT2 is near!
  3. Just had a good round with labrats. He actually spoke!
  4. I always check daily, too. I'm always ready for a rematch with everyone here, so if someone posts a day and time, odds are I'll be there.
  5. You're right there. You will probably have to get another PC in order to play, but this game is a lot of fun. (If only anyone would play online these days!!!!!! )
  6. Question 2:Yes, there is, IIRC (I never made any maps myself). Question 3: No, the limit doesn't have to be 20 players, you can set the maximum yourself. But the number of people you can host is limited by your bandwidth. Question 4: Let's just say that watching the AI battle on its own is like watching clowns box. Question 5: Battlefront has been working on a WWII based successor to DT for a long time, but they've been completely quiet as of late. As for your first question, I'm not much of a help in technical problems, but there are others here who are. They'll help you.
  7. I think we should wait for DT2 too, but I'll keep watching in the event there is a grand reunion. And I'll email Clay and ask him how DT2 is coming along.
  8. It's a armored warfare simulation of a battle between the Soviet Union and NATO forces from the late 1980's on. They're hard at work on a patch to it that will introduce new vehicles and other nice stuff. Here's the link to the site: http://www.steelbeasts.com/ Take a look at the forums, you'll find a thread about the upcoming patch. This sim has a steep learning curve, though it's mild compared to other sims, but it's worth it for sheer immersion. There's no other equivalent out there, which is why the majority of Europe's armies use it. There are 2 virtual units (VUs), or armies as other gamers would call them, the Steel Beasts Generals (the VU I'm in right now), and Panzer Battalion 911 (a German community). My involvement with the Generals means I won't be able to play DropTeam regularly. But they're a impressive group, and I'm glad I got into them and the game.
  9. It was at 7:30 PM EST (GMT -5). Don't know if anyone's remembered this game other than you and me. I've been busy in the Steel Beasts community after everyone just disappeared in November. And I can make it.
  10. That's what I've been wondering! I haven't seen anything in this forum since November???
  11. Yeah, I thought we would lose, but we held on with some golded shots from me. jby had to go after that round, so I decided to go too.
  12. Haha, the funny thing is I ran into them myself when I wrote my last post! Great to hear you've solved your driver problems. See you Sunday!
  13. So, anyone coming this Sunday? jby? poesel? orenmn? Imperial Grunt?
  14. My aim isn't quite as good these days, but trigger time this Sunday at the usual time should get it back to normal. See you soon!
  15. Great to hear you've got trigger time now! Can't remember whether or not I ever battled you, but if you can make it Sunday at the usual time, we can make it too. jby, at least, since Jung's having another baby and is moving, but Jalinth is moving too, and will play as soon as he gets some real bandwidth. Last we heard of a WWII DT was June, when Clay leaked to me in an email that Battlefront was hard at work on it.
  16. Just to let you know, I won't come on immediately. If I see a 2v2 occurring today, I'll hop on, because with last week's not so good turnout, I almost thought my declaration of the hiatus being over was premature. And this week, I just want to make sure.
  17. Odd thing is that you're right, the Mobility Radeon 3400 HD does have OpenGL 2.0. So are you sure all drivers are up to date? Phonan's ZebraTeam problem, as it turned out, existed only because of dated drivers. He's fully functional now, but just hasn't had the time to play recently. The most recent driver is Catalyst 8.10, and you can get it at this link: http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=xp/radeonx-xp Hope that helps.
  18. You mean Daylight Savings Time has ended? No, but it will on November 2nd.
  19. Silly me, I'd forgotten, there is no demo server currently running! We might want to create a new demo server, as that's the only way (outside of the forums) to get new players. Given that Delta Pavonis is a 3 GHz P4 (pre-Prescott, most likely) with 1 GB DDR 400 RAM and a 160GB HDD, it shouldn't be too difficult to build a server, or rent a equivalent. jby's the best option, given he's already run a server of his own once, and has experience building his own PCs. However, Kim, you and Aniruddha are also good options, since you have access to those great hosting servers in Amsterdam. Good points. Sadly, I don't have any control over that. However, DT2 is in the future, though Clay isn't answering any of my emails. (My last email to him was on the 12th of this month) The last time he wrote to me was in June, I think. He said then that they were hard at work on making DT2.
  20. I might be stuck with just Leopard, but I'm no I-tard. Give me the choice, and I'll use either OS.
  21. If you look in the News section of the DT home page, you'll see that the DT demo's received an "Excellent" rating by Findmysoft.com! On a related question, how many people are playing the demo these days? If 2000 people have downloaded it over 2 years, there have to be some people still playing, people I could tell about the full version. Does anyone have anything to say about the demo?
