  1. Sorry it was hard to get a fix on me; I kept moving when I died.
  2. Man that was really fun and hectic. I was attacking the main base, while dodging fire from both them and Ruaanith in a flanking position on the mountain. I tried to keep moving, but eventually my luck ran out. There's really nothing more fun than sniping a Thor and blowing up its turret from 7000+ meters with a 120mm HEAT round.
  3. Of course, we could also do something like "battering match" in which the contestants just aim to blow the antimatter out of each other. Only points for kills. Of course, we could implement the long-lost idea of vehicles being worth different amounts of points; come to think of it that option may already be in the XML. Time to go look!
  4. Hey Clay, sorry about the email confusion. I accidentally shot you emails from two different accounts. Phonan.Dropteam@gmail.com is still the one I'm using, so hopefully we can work out a time soon. See you on Dead Gulch!
  5. Countless thanks, Clay! It works perfectly now; I suppose that my problem was the execute permissions, or simply my silly mistakes in trying to fix the script myself. Also, the run text you gave me was different from that in the script, which may have affected something. If anyone else happens across the same problem, I can post my runClient.sh in hopes of it working. Once again, Clay, thank you. Now I need to go find some time to play...
  6. I just downloaded the latest DropTeam update in Ubuntu, and now DropTeam fails to start! First, pushd bin didn't work, but I finally changed it to cd /bin and that's fine. However, when I run the script it tells me that there's "no such file or directory" as ./SpaceVikings. Any help? I'm new to Linux, so if I've been unclear please tell me and I'll try to be more specific.

    I'm back

Weekly tournaments? A "Ladder?" Most Dangerous Player? Snakiest Viper? I think a lot of players would like that type of thing. (And I might too, as long as the so-called "Randomizer" keeps me out of fights with Clay...)
  8. I believe he actually is from Hawaii.
  9. Clay, I probably won't really be able to get a chunk of time for playing until this weekend. Would Saturday work for you? Early on Sunday would also probably be fine. See you in battle! (Or at least I'll see the tiny blob that is your tank when viewed from a Viper.) [ August 14, 2007, 07:27 PM: Message edited by: Phonan ]

    I'm back

    Welcome back, Jung!
  11. Ah, jby, you fiend! Why did you pit me against the fearsome Claytonius? The wreckage of my Vipers will be scattered across the field of battle! The anguish! The anguish! Sorry, I know it was random. Time to get about 10X better in the next 2 days...
  12. The Dragonfly is a good example of the type of aircraft I had in mind. Since the CZ server is down we have yet to see a dogfight between two dragonflys </font>
  13. I've got some textures done and saved as a .blend file, but when I try to export, it spits out a .obj file and .mat file... however they have no data! If you try to reimport, you get nothing. Nothing appears in DropTeam either. Is there a trick to exporting? Edit: My object files do appear now, and when I import it into Blender, everything looks fine. However, the objects still don't appear in DropTeam. Any help would be appreciated, but I'll work more on this later until I figure out the problem. 14. Boiling Point was a really harrowing game. Nexus and I enjoyed a good deal of teamwork as we attacked from both sides in heavy Thors. As soon as the defenders turned to face Nexus's attack, they were hit with HEAT from behind. If they turned to attack myself, Nexus tended to nail them with brutal efficiency. I still think that one of my favorite parts of this game is blowing up a Thor's turret with one well-placed HEAT round. Unfortunately, as Nexus and I were having the time of our lives, the opposing team promptly stole our flag. Having been recently forced to redrop, we were just the tiniest bit too late to stop Poesel with the flag. Then we tried a run back with the opponents' flag. When Nexus was killed, with jby closing in on the flag in a heavy tank, we appeared to be done for. As I took a Thor, it was a race as intense as that of two snails. Luckily, as we came into view of each other, jby was facing a threat from the west, and I managed to blow his turret off. This of course was no help at all in our fiendish race against time. I barely managed to grab the flag and race back only to be destroyed by Redcon's infantry strike. Our second run was stopped rather short as well by a well-placed Thor. In the next match (Slug Fest) Nexus, Rua'anith and I were pitted against our old opponents. After an initial artillery attack, we drove wave after wave at the base, but were stopped short by several well-hidden Hermes and a ring of mines, not to mention the stalwart defenders. Eventually, we made an EMP and Fire Mission attack, followed by waves of turrets, which finally drove the enemy outside their base, if only slightly. In the chaos that ensued, Rua'anith and I snuck two infantry squads into the base and sat on the objective. With roughly 20 seconds to go, it didn't look like we'd make it. Somehow, though, we gained an extra 200 points in the last seconds and won.
  15. Thank you very much. I'll give this a shot soon, probably on some of the CZ models. Once again, I really appreciate it.
  16. I know at the moment that a lot of the new units in Creature Zoo are without textures, being left as simply white objects. Seeing as I've fairly capable of using the GIMP and Photoshop, I think that I'd definitely be willing to take a shot at texturing the models. Of course, this takes me to the main point of this post. How exactly does one texture in Blender? If anyone who actually knows how to do this could simply post a quick how-to (well, hopefully quick. I don't want to waste your time,) I'd truly appreciate it and I can start texturing some of these here units. Any advice anyone can give would be very greatly appreciated.

And oh my goodness, Redcon, beautiful work on the Dragonfly. It's simply amazing. Of course, it's also an awesome and devastating unit to use, but that's really a truly great-looking unit you've made. Very, very, very nice work.

Just to let you know, I did post a Shrike with ATGs (call it what you want) on one of the Modding Forum Threads a while ago. I suppose it's too late now, but hopefully you can include it in v. 8. Hopefully everyone in the DropTeam 1-v-1 Tournament is going to participate in today's match at the usual time. And by the way, the Shrike ATG is here.
  19. Actually, I checked on digitalart.org, and that actually is the picture now. You can get a rough idea of the tank from the thumbnail, but the large image has been replaced with that icon.
  20. Seeing as it's rather too late today, I think we can try tomorrow (the 11th.) Any time that works for you should work for me. I'll check frequently as well. Hopefully we can trick some of the other folks here into joining too. See you then!
  21. And think how much more fun it would be with a sensor jammer!
  22. I hear it's really fun to fly around like that. Of course, I only hear, as hardly anyone else plays Viper with me, I've never had the supposedly joyous experience of soaring through the air in near-perfect parabolic flight. If anyone'd be willing to toss me, I'd love to go for a fly.
  23. Yes, you were my idol as I learned to pick people up and throw them around from insane heights. It was (and is) fun, but now people seem to be putting up more AA, which sort of wrecks the initial joy.
  24. Not that I have really done anything that much to write home about other than the bridge thing and, say, the time I grabbed a Bacchus and flew around blasting enemy Dropships.
