  1. Nobody have spoken about "Jagged Alliance". I'm waiting for the new chapter in this serie(if it will be ever distributed in Italy), the first two were really good, with a lot of weapons, equipments and turn based, single man tactics to play with. Baldur's gate 2, B17 2, Silent hunter 2 and Harpoon IV will be my next "christmas presents" ------------------ "Memento Audere Semper" - G. D'Annunzio
  2. If this my help, i had to reduce the back cover size to 62% of the original and the front cover to 54% of the original to obtain a size that fits in the jewel case. I don't know if this depends on the software (i'm using Corel Draw 8) or the printer (Canon 620), but i hope this can be helpfull. Regards (and don't get worried about flames) ------------------ "Memento Audere Semper" - G. D'Annunzio
  3. Good news, this maybe can help building up an Italian CM comunity. It looks that we are still too few. Thanks ------------------ "Memento Audere Semper" - G. D'Annunzio
  4. I'm playing the same scenario by PBEM with a friend. He wasn't so lucky, 7 bazooka shots on a halftrack (that was stationary for at least 50 seconds) and no hits scored. I'm anyway losing the scenario (9th turn and I'm retreating my german troops to avoid a carnage), that bloody minefield stopped all my efforts to give support to the infantry with my halftracks. Small and nasty scenario ------------------ "Memento Audere Semper" - G. D'Annunzio
  5. Downloaded it, printed it and put it in a jewel box. It looks so prooofessional!!!! Good job, and the web site is on the same level. Somebody told that you should be payed by BTS, i agree ------------------ "Memento Audere Semper" - G. D'Annunzio
  6. Just today is happened one thing that amazed me. 2000 point scenario, night time and armour random choice for both side in a town. I've lined up 3 stugs (the auto-buying feature is always buying this turtle) in the main road were I supposed the enemy attack will develop. After 4 or 5 quiet turns an undefined tank shape appeared from the crossroad ,between some tall buildings, just a hundred of meters in front of my stugs. The 3 opened fire and the unidentified tank brew up with two shots on target. The next turn the undefined shape changed to a Pershing. None of my units went close to the tank, so nobody have had a better LOS on it. I'm supposing that the burning tank enlightened up the surrounding giving a better sight to my stugs. Probably is only a coincidence but it is still amazing. ------------------ "Memento Audere Semper" - G. D'Annunzio
  7. I've used a lot of RTS (fantasy, sci-fi, historical), some turn based (TOAW and some others) and CM is my first WEGO game. I found that WEGO is the most difficult (principally due to the fact that you must look more "in the future" than other systems) but, IMHO, the most satisfactory on the "mind usage" point of view, followed by turn based and last RTS (were speed is probably more important). As I'm getting old my "mouse speed" is decreasing and i'm loosing "the grip" on RTS (too much beers probably is also a reason). Anyway some well done RTS (like Ground Control) are not only a matter of speed but also a matter of "brain". ------------------ "Memento Audere Semper" - G. D'Annunzio
  8. Well, the fact is that the zook is out of ammo now (i'm still playing the same PBEM game, the scenario is St.Anne Chapelle), and my APC is taking care of the zook. I've runned some test of fog and % to hit and it seems that LOS was right: when you see an enemy through fog, no modifier will apply to the probs to hit. ------------------ "Memento Audere Semper" - G. D'Annunzio
  9. I'm quite new too, welcome onboard. I've not read too much books about WWII, but the two from mr. Ambrose ("citizens in uniform" and "Company of Brothers") were really interesting and well written IMHO. Probably some english friend in this forum can correct me if i've made some mistake in the book's titles (i have to translate it from italian). About movies "save private Ryan" it's quite good (i'm not so well informed to judge on the historical and technical point of view) and can be replayed with the good scenario released by Wild Bill ------------------ "Memento Audere Semper" - G. D'Annunzio
  10. I'm reading a book called "Trincee" (trenches) regarding eastern (Carso)Italian front during WWI. Both the Italian and the Austro-Hungarian were not too much concerned about friendly casualties when ordering fire arty missions. Soldiers on both sides were afraid of friendly and enemy fire in the same way. Somethimes friendly arty (in rare cases) and MG (more often) fire was also used to push own troops to the attack. ------------------ "Memento Audere Semper" - G. D'Annunzio
  11. Italians, i'll try to improve the bad reputations we have earned in the last wars. Jokes aside, I'll probably play the Reds, my allied tanks needs revenge! ------------------ "Memento Audere Semper" - G. D'Annunzio
  12. I'm in a PBEM game with a friend, small scenario with fog. One of my APC was in sight of a US Bazooka for almost 2 minutes. The zook fired 7 or 8 shots at less than 100 m. with no hit scored. I was amazed by this, is it luck or something else? I've done a search on the subject and found that fog affects LOS and spotting but no info about the effect of fog on probability to hit the target. I'm sorry if this subject was discussed before, i found 200 topics on fog but i can't read them all. ------------------ "Memento Audere Semper" - G. D'Annunzio
  13. Tried the tin bucket experiment. My girlfriend was so happy to help me that now i'm in a hospital bed with a suspected skull fracture. First italian WIA in CM. This is Virtual Reality at his highest level. ------------------ "Memento Audere Semper" - G. D'Annunzio
  14. I'm not sure i've well understood the matter (my English isn't really "top quality"), but i think that if you consider CMBO battles as small portions of a continuous and dinamic frontline, the defender "must" take care of all his assigned "part of the front" (including edges) and the attacker have the same duty. This is my 2 Italian Lire opinion (and is really a low value ------------------ "Memento Audere Semper" - G. D'Annunzio
  15. I'm interested, please send me the operation at piekat@tiscalinet.it I'll let you know my opinion (it will take some time, I play barely 5 hours per week) Ciao
