GerryCMBB
Hello All: How many men are needed to fire this? I ask as sometimes when playing the Americans, I see only one enemy and he appears to be firing it as an HMG (I think the issue of something being wrong with the animation has been brought up before?). Thanks, Gerry
GreenAsJade
Is it possible that you simply can't see the other guys? Maybe they are lying down? I think that if you click on him, you will find out how many enemy guys there actually are still left in that unit (at least, at the low levels of difficulty you will). YankeeDog
An HMG 34 or 42 certainly can be operated by just one man. For a single man to actually move the gun + heavy tripod + any decent amount of ammo would be very difficult. But once it's set up, firing it can certainly be done solo. The MG will be more effective if there's an Asst. Gunner to help manage the ammo feed and barrel change, but not absolutely necessary. And a third man to act as spotter is also good, but not necessary. A single man can also certainly operate an HMG in the game -- I've seen it happen in my own forces. However, as noted, if you see only one man near an enemy HMG, this doesn't necessarily mean that there is only one enemy soldier in the HMG team; there may be an Asst. gunner and possibly others that you simply haven't spotted yet.
