stikkypixie
Hi, I have a problem with my CMAK and CMBB. I have a GeforceFx 5600 (WindowsXP) and didn't have any problems until I installed 66.93 (in the wrong way). CM just freezes and crashes. I uninstalled my drivers tried several drivers (when I didn't have any problems), but now CM seems to crash with all of them. After the crash the computer automatically reboots and Windows does that error reporting thing and goes to the technical support website from microsoft and says that I got one of these errors: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER or STOP: 0x100000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER_M Any suggestions on what I should do? Btw It seems to happen most frequently with night battles (although I'm not sure). I have tried to turn off my firewall and anti-virus. Thanks in advance. Ps. I don't seem to have problems with other games, although I don't play much else.
Redwolf
What exactly does it mean when you say you installed the drivers the wrong way the first time?
stikkypixie
Well instead of uninstalling them first, I just double-clicked the installer of the newer version.
Redwolf
Well, that's not horribly wrong and shouldn't have permanently damaged the drivers. At this point I would make sure other drivers are OK, e.g. your sound drivers. Otherwise you are in for the Windoze round - reinstall.
stikkypixie
Ah I see, I did make a recovery point (don't know if that's the right name) when things were fine. Would that help?
Redwolf
Well, in my opinion Windows is never fine But yes this is what it is supposed to guard against.

Liddell-Hart
If you've got XP can't you just rollback the duff driver?
stikkypixie
That's what I did . It should be OK now (touch wood). Hopefully I won't mess up anything else.
