Schrullenhaft
Previous Battlefront games available from retailers like Amazon were distributed by other companies, such as Paradox Interactive for CMSF and CDV for the previous CMx1 games. Battlefront has not currently negotiated a retail contract for distributing CMBN as of yet. I do not know if there are plans to do this in the near future or not. CMSF suffered a too-early release due to contractual pressure to release the game for retail. I assume that future games will not suffer this sort of fate, so it may be awhile before a retail distribution agreement is made. Retail does extend the reach of our games to markets that would not otherwise know of us, but it also has a host of other issues (such as when Paradox decided not to update CMSF past version 1.20). CMBN does have German-language menus (along with French and Spanish translations), but the scenarios/campaigns have not been translated, nor has the manual been translated to any other language beyond English.
Sergei
BFC is primarily a self-publishing developer. Occasionally they have made retail publishing deals with various partners (eg. CDV, Paradox, 1C) but that is something that they do depending on whether it's worth all the other trouble. Eg. some publishers are not all that happy with providing continued support to already published products, but for Combat Mission titles, patches can be expected for many years to come. Just look at the Paradox version of CMSF and you know what I mean...
