Uniform mods ??

Still a little puzzled by the way these seem to work or not work.

I have the US Rangers,82 and101 Airborne mods . I only ever have one of these 3 in the Z folder at a time.

I find that in Quick Battles if I select Airborne Infantry and select and play as Americans then I get the Airborne uniform--but if I play as Germans and allocate the Computer to select and control the American Airborne units them what turns up on the American side is a mishmash of uniforms with only a few correct Airborne ones.

The Hitlerjugend uniform mod on the German side seems to work with both player and computer control

The only American uniform which seems to work both for you and for the Computer is the Rangers uniform.

Any other similar experiences with Airborne unit mod problems---- any suggestions/advice please

If you ask for Airborne auto-select chances are 50/50 that regular-looking 'glider infantry' will get selected. Any 'mishmash' of uniforms would be the autopicker using up remaining points in the Airborne "Specialist Teams" which could be either para or glider infantry teams. That's the joy of autopicker.

If you're replacing German or American infantry uniforms be aware each has 3-4 alt skins that cycle randomly. A couple German infantry with jackboots, a couple with low shoes & ankle-wraps and different tunic shades. American infantry have three different shades of jacket - I think - and tankers have two shades. And German officers have their own texture too without webbing suspenders.

I believe you can add to the uniforms instead of replace them. If the last german uniform is called "german-uniform-m43 2.bmp" then you can add a new "german-uniform-m43 3.bmp" to the mix.

Thanks Mikey--Now understand more clearly the complexity re the selection by autopicker re para and glider infantry and also the randomly selected basic alternative skins especially with regard to German footwear and American tunic shades.

Cheers....
