How do I setup a pre-planned bombardment with a delay using on board mortars? Time delays are there for the off map arty....... but I can't seem to see them for on board units.

Time delays are not available for on map mortars.

I suspect it's just pointless. On-board assets have call times of less than 5 minutes anyway, so you just call it when you need it. Making the call early doesn't allow you to move your spotter until it's delivered anyway, so where's the advantage in setting a delay? As far as I can tell, the only point of putting a timer on a call is for preparatory barrages. Since preplanned barrages at the start of the game do not require LOS, it means you can bring a strike down on somewhere you still won't be able to see at the time of delivery but might not want hitting as soon as you cross the start line.

I wanted to fire my on board 81mm smoke as a pre-planned arty in the setup phase - to add to the smoke from the off map arty, timed to arrive at the same time, as this is insufficient to do the job - not unreasonanble......

And a prebarrage call is accurate where calling for it later is not.

Ah. I get the context now. Permitting delays on preplanned barrages from on-map assets doesn't seem at all unreasonable.

Yes - I wanted my on board mortars to arrive at the same time as my preplanned off map artillery at T+5min - no way I could get a spotter in position in time to achieve this. Seems an easy feature to add - as it's already there for off map arty.
