Pchandler43
Could someone explain to me how exactly I get engineers to detect and mark/clear mines? I cannot seem to figure it out.
LJFHutch
A platoon on fast should clear mines pretty quick. * I think I heard somewhere that the only way to clear them is for someone to step on one, seems like a costly way to detect them though
Pchandler43
Yeah I saw that the engineers have a mark mine command, but its always greyed out, so I'm wondering if theres something I need to do to unlock the command. RUnning over a mine is one way to detect them...albeit inefficiently..
Erwin
AFAIK you cannot detect mines in CM2 until they blow something or someone up. At that time, Engineers can mark them. I think they have to be adjacent or in the minefield for a certain amount of time for the MARK MINE order to be accessible. Hope someone more knowledgeable can clarify.

Detection is by hitting a mine, possibly by loitering in the vicinity, but I´ve never seen it happen. After marking the mines , other units can move through the minefield albeit not faster than at "move" speed.
