I just read the announcement that "1939 Storm Over Europe" scenario will be released in the near future (I've been checking the site each day for updates). I've purchased the entire Strategic Command series, and I think this scenario has the potential to be the best so far. I just have a couple of questions regarding the scenario:

1) Now that the map scale has changed, will the scenario include an event for the transfer of Bessarabia from Romania to the USSR or the transfer of Transylvania from Romania to Hungary?

2) Will the size of the Qattara Depression be adjusted (I'm not sure of how much of a factor it plays as set-up in The Great War)?

3) Will it be possible to cause the United Kingdom to sue for peace or otherwise leave the war due to German U-Boats raiding the convoys (perhaps through a collapse in National Morale)? Similarly, would it be possible to have Germany surrender as a result of the Allied strategic bombing campaign (or even an atomic bomb)?

Thanks again for making this a free scenario and for all of the time you've spent developing it.

Hi Keano16,

Thanks for your interest and here are some thoughts on your questions.

1) It is not finalized yet but this is likely as I think we have this flexibility with the recent TERRITORY script changes.

2) At the moment it is the same as the thinking is to maintain some maneuverability due to the scale of the map but really this only provides an extra tile due to the addtional hills and desert terrain south of El Alamein.

3) Right now these are not in the works but I think both could be scripted if desired as a mod etc.

I can tell you we are playing the campaign in beta test right now and it's a hell of a lot of fun. The ability to punch a hole through the enemy line, manuvere on a grand scale with armor, surround and then destroy large pockets of the enemy is terribly fun. At times... when invading Russia you are a bit daunted as your units continue to advance and advance and there is still more territory to take and hold... all the while fighting small battles with an ever strengthening Russian bear. The battle for North Africa is good fun too... lots of room for manuvere. :)
