Tank Hunter Posted March 24, 2011 Share Posted March 24, 2011 Hi I'm using ATI 6970 card and shadows are just awful in CMSF while on a a laptop with Nvidia card shadows are fine. I don't have any shadow problem with any other game on ATI just CMSF. Is this a known bug? Does this have to do with drivers or something else? Which driver is recommended? Schrullenhaft Posted March 25, 2011 Share Posted March 25, 2011 I don't know the difference between the rendering of shadows between ATI/AMD and Nvidia. I have heard other people comment on how the game may not look as good with ATI/AMD as it does with Nvidia. One thing to keep note of when making comparisons is that CMSF and the upcoming CMBN are OpenGL games and not DirectX, which is the most common graphics API for video games on the PC. ATI/AMD in the past has not put a lot of effort into its OpenGL drivers, but every-so-often they do.
