noxnoctum
http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=56602&highlight=howitzer+russian Where can I find this unit/what time period does it need to be?
ArgusEye
I think either of the small howitzers [M1927 or M1938] would fit the bill. Neither is as fast as a mortar, and they don't usually get 60 rounds, but they are cheap and relatively movable.
noxnoctum
Ya but I want that one that's as fast as a mortar and gets 60 rounds .
ArgusEye
In a scenario either one can be equipped with up to 100 rds. Fast as a mortar - not quite.
noxnoctum
Aye but I get the impression this guy's talking about a QB.
Joachim
No (medium) gun is as fast as a mortar. It is much heavier in RL. CM models RL. Thus most medium guns are "very slow". The transport class 5 guns should be slightly faster than those with class 6, but none can compare to a mortar. And I fail to remember a medium gun in CM with a standard ammo load of 60.
Kingfish
I interpret the 'fast' as pertaining to the unit's ROF, not the speed the crew can push the gun across ground.
Michael Emrys
I think that is a non-standard interpretation. Michael
Joachim
I interpret the 'fast' as pertaining to the unit's ROF, not the speed the crew can push the gun across ground. The ROF of the guns are good for guns, but don't compare to the mortars. 76mm M1927/39 Reg Gun has a ROF of 8 (on par with the Zis2) The mortars are 11 (82mm) and 13 (50mm). Quite a difference. But I briefly considered ROF, too. Just because it couldn't be speed.

What is the difference with a higher experience level and within command of an HQ with good bonuses?
Joachim
ROF is influenced by experience. But I never tested that. Even the ROF values are just from Chris CM database. Dunno if a bonus affects ROF. But it would fit the scheme.
