Ip address/Apple/How do you find it?

Recommended Posts

For users with routers the Apple tcp/ip control panel fails to show the WAN IP addess that is seen from the outside (other internet users). To remedy this, there are small apps that show both LAN IP (the router assigned) and WAN IP. WAN IP being the one that other users will need to connect to your computer.

Versiontracker.com has these apps as freeware. One that I use is called "My IP" Just do a search there.

Also, for users of any computer, this web page comes in handy at times. It shows the WAN address of your computer but may not always be the most reliable source (the IP addresser is more reliable).
