Abbott
I am writing a Guide page for Combat Mission and use a PC. I would like to include the procedure for finding one's IP address with an Apple as I have never used one and do not know. Thank you.
Buckeye
For most Mac users, the IP address can be obtained by opening the TCP/IP Control Panel. Thanks for asking!

Freak
For users with routers the Apple tcp/ip control panel fails to show the WAN IP addess that is seen from the outside (other internet users). To remedy this, there are small apps that show both LAN IP (the router assigned) and WAN IP. WAN IP being the one that other users will need to connect to your computer. Versiontracker.com has these apps as freeware. One that I use is called "My IP" Just do a search there. Also, for users of any computer, this web page comes in handy at times. It shows the WAN address of your computer but may not always be the most reliable source (the IP addresser is more reliable). http://www.babygrrl.com/ip.shtml [ 05-28-2001: Message edited by: Freak ] [ 05-30-2001: Message edited by: Freak ]
