Shock Force never ceases to amaze!

Just thought it worth commenting on a couple of little things that I have seen in the last Marines battle I fought.

First time I have seen this, AI tank gets too close for comfort. My two guys decide rather than wasting a rocket and killing themselves they will fair better using a demo charge (and maybe 4 hand grenades!) :D

And I've just seen the AI assault infantry bombarded by its own artillery which was a sight for sore eyes! I didn't even have to expose my positions! :)

Edit: Do you think it's a bit 'gamey' when the AI advances its abandoned vehicle crews into prime positions rather than using its heavy infantry? That's a bit bizarre in my eyes.

WRT the last sentence then yes, it is gamey in my eyes. I think I've seen some armour crewmen on here before and I'd just like to know if you guys would advance into an objective on foot after abandoning your vehicle (for whatever reason).

If you load up the scenario 'UK Battlegroup Attacks' and play as red you'll notice at the end the stream of CR2, Warrior and Scimitar crewmen wandering towards the town.

Back to the picture though, is that a modified T-[Number]? Never noticed huge slabs of ERA on any Syrian tank but the T-90S. My troops never demo tanks either, my inefficiency gets them killed before they reach the tank :P

Don't know if 'gamey' is the word, since it isn't exactly an exploit to gain an advantage. More a way of getting valuable vehicle crews killed mercilessly. The problem (I believe) is simply that the crews are obeying the orders of their AI group just as they did when in the tanks. I.e. they will continue to advance to the area that their tank was going to advance to, and then e.g. hang around there looking to engage targets.

Ideally they would join a new 'AI group' when knocked out which amounts to "get into cover and make your way back to your own lines", but how easy that is to implement is another question...

I think it was a T65 of some sort if memory recalls. The battle is part of the campaign. On the subject of crews advancing, I've just seen it again in my current battle. I've knocked out some BMPs and the remaining crew have regrouped and are advancing without any evident support. It's just suicide, although it is annoying because sooner or later it means you have to expose your defensive positions to take them out as they don't disappear otherwise. They end up advancing along with the rest of the infantry. Could this be an AI exploit as such? Or is it just simply obeying the rules and trying to get to the target as quicky as possible.. I know if I was crew, and I was armed with a pistol, I would not be advancing :D

Probably a T-62M sort of T65. :P T-62 is easily recognised by how the turret looks like being slightly to the front of mid-hull, unlike T-55 and T-72 where the turrets are more to the centre. Also T-62 has 5 road wheels while T-72 has 6.

The tank and crew are assigned to the AI plan. The crew are fulfilling the plan, that's all. It isn't realistic, but that's what's happening.
