noxnoctum
What's a good, freeware tool that I can use to edit images (i.e. add text and symbols, arrows etc.) for an AAR I'm writing? I'd rather not go with paint... it's quite ugly.

lomir
Thanks so much, JonS! MILSketch brought tears of happiness to my eyes!! I used Paint before and its a real pain to create symbols and unit notations.

Lets_All_Fight
Thanks for this. I've been looking for something exactly like this for a long time!
MeatEtr
Gimp, and/or this: http://www.historicalsoftware.com/HSC/HSCmilsketch.htm Wow thanks JonS, this is a great tool! Makes me think there should be a sticky thread in the "Scenario & Mod Design" forum mentioning best tools to use.
snake_eye
JonS, just gave the best tool link to create a tactical map. MILTECH is fabulous. I use to draw my NATO symbols with Photoshop and doesn't do it anymore, since I discovered it few weeks ago in the CSMF links. Cheers
