  1. I seem to have used up my activations over some number of years and several PCs. How may I request more activations? Regards
  2. I see that the MacOSXers are getting a nice deal with CMSF + modules packaged together for $45. I currently own CMSF + Marines. - I've had them since their release dates. It will cost me $50 to acquire the two missing modules for my Windows version - i.e. $5 more for half (actually less than half) the content. Any plans for Windows discounts on these 2-3 year old DLC packs?
  3. Wasn't there also supposed to be a NATO module released for CMSF some months ago? I haven't even heard it mentioned since some time in 2009. Did I miss something?
  4. This is an old issue from way back. There are no elevation limits due to AI constraints. If vehicles couldn't shoot straight up the AI would have to learn how to distinguish when to provide cover from what distance to a particular building in a particular situation and hope, of course, there are no obstructions etc.. etc.. It does sound like a daunting task but I prefer they would provide more of these types of fixed than pumping out modules of new vehicles. Then again, modules make money..AI tweaks don't.
  5. paint.net is small, free and easy to use: http://www.getpaint.net/
  6. Thanks for the replies. I may give 1.21 a shot. If I find the "goofy" ridge behavior I will try to make a movie or at least some screenies.
  7. Ugh. Are anti-tank teams still shooting at tanks with rifles? And then reloading in plain sight? One other quickie plz: Is ridgeline behavior still goofy? I know there was some improvement a couple of patches back, but it's still pretty awful. I haven't got CMSF installed atm so I can't check.
  8. I am conflicted about this. I want to support Battlefront developers by buying Brits and NATO modules. However, I would prefer to have more functionality put into the game such as that requested in this thread. My only option then is to not buy, in an effort to make some kind of statement, no matter how insignificant. How unfortunate! The "Don't like it? Don't buy it." and "Go make your own game." slogans which this organization seems to have adopted IMHO run contrary to the community mindset some people try to foster here. It must sound ironic to those individuals who purchased multiple copies despite the fact that they will derive no further pleasure from a 2nd or 3rd copy. It just makes no economic sense whatsover!
  9. It's now 3 weeks. It's gone past "before you know it" and it's also beyond "early next week". Witty comments to follow:
  10. This is a common and popular issue: The need for more info regarding loadouts. If your gameplan relies on the destruction of one or two tanks it seems a waste of time to wait the 7-12 minutes for the support to arrive only to find out they will be throwing rocks instead of tank killers. Particularly vexing when there is a 1 hour or less time limit.
  11. It's been 2 weeks since the british release and I haven't heard a peep.
  12. I like the LOS idea. Sounds pretty CPU intensive, though, depending on precision? What would the wireframe be for?
  13. Battlefront and XML appear to be as oil and water. For maps and campaigns as well.
  14. Strange. I had mentioned that problem a while back in a thread. I thought I was told it was being worked on. Still waiting for 1.2 patch so can't test it.
  15. I know of just the one: http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/middle_east_and_asia/syria_wall_2004.jpg
  16. I seem recall reading in the manual how the vehicle "slow" command was supposed to match up with infantry "quick". I thought I had used that combination successfully before but I can't remember. I'm waiting for the guided missile code to be updated before I jump in again.
  17. Hello, yes, sorry forgot to mention I was playing patch 1.11 on Elite.
  18. Disclaimer: I'm a casual gamer. Where should I post what I consider to be in-game tactical/AI/accuracy issues? Is there a list somewhere to check against? Today in Pooh (my litmus test for frustrating gameplay): 1. I command my "hidden" anti-tank team to target a BMP-3 (or whatever, hey I'm casual, remember?). While the LAW guy gets ready, the other guy gets his rifle out and starts plinking away - giving up their position. 2-5 seconds later they're dead. 2. I completely destroyed a bunker. It was on fire and it had the red circle under it. BUT there were still 2 Syrians inside working the machine gun. 3. 2 hellfires intended for tanks were launched into a hillside and another 1-2 into the side of a building. These are laser-guided munitions, right? There was no smoke and conditions were daylight and clear (it was Pooh).
  19. "Move to Contact" is a definite must! Or just a "hunt" + "hide" combination would be great. I'm surprised it still hasn't made it in game. Hmm.. I think there was a thread re: this somewhere here...
  20. They sure do. If you patch your game - I buy your next one. If you don't patch - I don't. It's purely a business decision to patch. (well maybe except Battlefront - who patches purely out of the goodness of their heart!)
  21. I hope you aren't implying that such game improvements will be held back for ppl who don't buy the new modules. My understanding is that any improvements to the existing game engine would be shared with all people, while new mods bring new content only.
  22. You should go to CM mods - there's a semi-offical update posted by the designer. Else there will be other unexpected "amusements" to be found.
  23. I 100% agree. Isn't "peek around the corner" one of the first tactics taught in urban combat training?
  24. $2200 a month already gets you a mind-reading, powered exoskeleton - well the legs anyway. Just apply your fav armor. http://astroroach.blogspot.com/2008/10/japanese-exoskeleton-ready-for-prime.html
