PBEM .LNK files?

Recommended Posts

Typically CMSF will give the files an .ema extension. Do you know what email client and/or service your opponent is using ? It or your email client/service is renaming the files and I'm guessing your anti-virus or email client is objecting to the .lnk extension.

Depending on what sort of email client/service or anti-virus you're using, you could configure it to download the .lnk file(s). Some are harder than others to reconfigure in this regard (such as Microsoft Outlook, which some versions require registry editing to change this behavior).

Another, and perhaps better, option is to have your opponent .zip/compress the file and send it to you. While this probably won't save any space/size on the file, it should keep it intact (including its name).
