Thanks for the help, it turns out to be the firewall. I just upgraded it and now CMBB won't work go figure . All I have to do now is to remember to shut it off before I start the game.
Schrullenhaft
Which firewall software is this, what version and is the problem that the game fails the 'CD check' (leaving only 'multiplayer' option) or is something else not working ?
stikkypixie
Well it's the latest version of the free Zone Alarm firewall. When I pop in the cd the autorun doesn't respond and when I manually start CMBB it doesn't respond either. In fact the whole pc slows down. It's only when I take out the cd that I get these error messages: -the one you get when you start CMBB without cd (obviously) -And one about that it can't run setup.exe I'll do some more testing today.
