benpark
I suddenly have an issue with the shadows not matching up with the models in game. They were working fine when I last played a few weeks ago. I'm on a MacPro with an ATI 3800 video card.
Sneaksie
I think the reason is updated Catalyst driver.
benpark
I'll check the driver number, but it's an older one since we Mac users have fewer choices in what we can use due to the dual boot . I also noticed the grass is no longer showing up. Will a reinstall help? I just installed the new add-on, so I'd like to get the game back to looking as nicely as I remember it. Sneaksie
I don't think reinstall of the game would help. Try to install latest driver for Radeon, 8.12.
Mongo
I've got the same problem. I've got an ATI X1900XT with the CAT 8.12 driver
benpark
I can't install a newer driver. The one I have (8.493.0.0) is the latest from ATI for Mac Bootcamp. I hope something can be done to fix this, as I just spent $50.00 (that's what it comes to with the S&H) on the new scenario pack.
apoll
Hey...I got same problem...running 2 x 4870 x 2s in Crossfire with 8.12 driver...and have the deteched shadows issues. Hope they (being anyone...) fix it. apoll
Mongo
I found the solution for my rig. I reset the settings on my ATI X1900XT to "Factory Settings" with the "Preferences" tab. Now the shadows work properly.
benpark
Candygram for Mr. Mongo- his fix works. Thanks for that. Now the game is back to it's amazing visual self.
apoll
Mongo...as a matter of interest...what AA settings do you have for your ATI card? Setting factory preferences for me didn't work. And your other settings, if you don't mind? See if I am doing something wrong there... regards, apoll
Mongo
I tried all settings for the AA, including sliding over to 6X and checking "use application settings" or "Temporal anti-aliasing". Even with the slider at 2X and "use application settings" checked the shadows are displaced and move around with the camera. It's only when I reset under the Preferences tab to "Restore Factory settings" that the problem is cleared up.
Sneaksie
Turn the AA off in video card settings. Shadows are displaced on current ATI drivers with forced antialiasing.
Mongo
I maxed out all the other settings, including checking "Enable Adaptive Anti_Aliasing" and sliding it to the far right and sliding Catalyst AI to the far right and the shadows are OK.
