sporr
I just started playing again, but it's been a while. I've saved a game in progress. But when I go back into CMAK, I can't find anywhere to load it. It isn't listed among the scenarios and I can't find it anywhere else. I saved it with the unique name "SAVE1". I'm probably overlooking something obvious. Can anyone help?
sporr
I have checked all of the folders I know to check and can't find a place for saved games. Where are they stored?
dieseltaylor
I have 111 saved games in my saved folder in CMAK. To access them I press the New Battle button and they all appear there in the list along with the regular scenarios.

To access them I press the New Battle button and they all appear there in the list along with the regular scenarios. Is there a separate saved game folder? Maybe that's the problem. I only see: BMP OpenPlay Modules Quick Battle Maps Scenarios WAV This is on Vista btw.
dieseltaylor
Curious. I would do a search of my drives for the extensions and see where they turn up. Also create a saved game folder just fo laughs and see if you can then save to it. However the search is the interesting one to do - and you may recover your games by sticking them into scenario folder. Vista! - phooey : )
sporr
This is really strange. I can't find the saved game files anywhere on the computer. What should the name of the Saved Game folder be?
umlaut
This is really strange. I can't find the saved game files anywhere on the computer. What should the name of the Saved Game folder be? Well, in my game it´s called just that: "Saved Games". It´s in the "Combat Mission 2"-folder. My game is the CDV-version - don´t know if it´s different if you have the other version. Edit: Sorry, I thought this was a question regarding CMBB. Just realised this is for CMAK. Anyway, I don´t believe it´s much different in CMAK - except I think that the "Saved Games"-folder might be in another folder called "Run" - if I remember correctly (I haven´t got CMAK installed at the moment)
sporr
I have a "CMAK" and a "CMBB" folder in Program Files. Neither of them have a "Saved Games" folder, but I'm going to create one and see if that does anything. I have the CD version of both games.
costard
Could be a Vista / accounts thing - there's a similar problem discussed in the CMSF forums. Try a search for "SAVED1" - I've forgotten the extension - on your hard disc. Hope this helps.
sporr
I bet that's it. Now that I notice, they both installed into the standard "Program Files" folder, which Vista restricts write access to. I'll move the install out of there and see if that takes care of it. Thanks everyone!
sporr
Just to update. That did, indeed, fix the problem. Thanks again!
