permanent666
+1 for flares in my opinion there are still some general spotting issues in 1.11
Meach
On the other side of the coin.... I was on patrol on exercise and it was a full moon. We crept into a copse of small tree's and hunkered down. About 50-60m away me and my oppo could see a couple of guys from the other platoon literally clear as day. They were scanning from a treeline, eventually got up and moved off thru tall grass. Once they were in range we tackled them and stole there ration packs after a few hefty slaps and kicks. We had no NV gear at all but if we had to shoot them we could have picked which eye to shoot first it was that clear. Was mid october-ish at about 03:00 UK. To this day I can picture it still.
Falconander
Meach, I used to love those cat and mouse matches. We are going after some scouts one time and could see them through our NV gathered aroound a 'glow' coming from the ground. We watched them for awhile and eventually came into contact with them. They were taken off guard as they were occupied with their undergound BBQ pit. They had an air intake built into a hole in the ground which was almost entirely underground. What was more surprising is that one of them had caught I believe a pheasant or such by hand and they were BBQing it. Their meal was much better than our MREs that night.
Meach
Falcon, Yeah certainly added some spice to routine exercises. Underground BBQ...gotta love it. Wish I had thought of it lol We stole some carrots from a nearby field and made a veggie stew with the looted beef drink cubes. Oxo, we call them. That night must have been the clearest night I have ever experienced. We never needed any light source to strip and clean the rifles. Not even a glowstick under canvas. Was really ghostly and otherworldy. Somehow detached from normality.
