deilthedog
see if you can get your heads round this one. when i press alt and any hot key they dont work. all i get is the camera inching forward. the only way to quit is a combination of the alt key and the 3 keys to the right of it. if i hold these keys down i have to actually button bash them for about 5 seconds for the quit option to appear. this is the weirdest thing ive ever experienced while playing a game. what could be causing this?
Schrullenhaft
If you think something is wrong with CMBO, completely remove it and reinstall it. More than likely however is that you may have something else wrong with your computer. You have listened to the advice in the Main forum about making sure the the CAPS LOCK key is OFF ? Do you have any other problems with your keyboard in any other program ? Do you have some keymapping utility loaded or have you recently played another game which may remap the keys on the keyboard ? Keybashing in CM shouldn't be necessary. It's sometimes a little slow to respond to an Alt-Tab, but I haven't seen anything I would consider a problem with the keyboard in CM. Maybe you need to check your 'Typematic Rate' in your CMOS/BIOS setup. Though I doubt that anything here is really an issue. I'd suggest that you 'kill' all programs running in the background before launching CM. BeWary
Are you sure your ALT keys work? Sounds like a bad keyboard to me. Course, could just be that your system is hosed. I'm sure it's not a CM problem. BeWary

Schrullenhaft
Alt+F4 is a Windows standard key combination to close most Windows desktop apps. You can try it with some programs and see if it responds. I've never used this utility myself, but you can download TuffTest Lite and see if it has a useful keyboard diagnostic or not.
JMcGuire
The web browser you're using right now uses the ALT key. If you can press ALT+F and the File menu opens, it works.
